So I’ve been dating this guy, and we’ve been going pretty steady for a while now. His name is Netflix and while he can be quite a distraction from my studies, I value the time we spend together. He’s always there for me, ya know? Just like my other boyfriends Ben & Jerry. They are always available to hang out with me when I need to relax after a long day of writing articles that aren’t even that funny.
Netflix has recently come out with many new shows, and obviously, I have watched all of them.
Next time you choose to opt for a night in, consider watching these ten shows courtesy of Netflix.
1. The Killing:
Based in Seattle, two detectives team up to find out what happened when a local teenage girl turns up dead. Filled with many twists and turns, this show has suspense, red herrings, and a plot thickening by the episode.
2. Revenge:
Years after her father’s murder, Amanda returns to her hometown disguised as a wealthy socialite. With the help of her childhood friends, she tries to sabotage the pretentious family next door by unraveling their darkest secrets and scandals.
3. Lie To Me:
A team of highly intelligent people work to solve crimes by reading the facial expressions and mannerisms of suspects interviewed. They use science and technology to determine who is lying. In this show, however, the individuals with the most to hide may surprise you.
4. Dexter:
A cold blooded killer or vigilante? Dexter works as a forensic analyst full time, and as a criminal killer on the side. His family has been prominent members of the Miami police force, granting him access to the list of criminals that go unpunished. Will he ever get caught, or will he be serving justice his way forever?
5. The League:
This show is for my Always Sunny lovers. Crude humor, football, and beer sum up this show. 10/10 recommend if you need a quick laugh or want to watch something less intense.
6. Criminal Minds:
Ok, so I might have a thing for crime shows..a group of highly skilled federal agents travel across the country to solve the most heinous crimes by putting themselves in the shoes of each killer.
7. Shameless:
A dysfunctional family on the south side of Chicago strives to keep it all together. Featuring an alcoholic father and absent mother, the Gallaghers somehow manage to make it work as life throws every curve ball imaginable their way.
8. Private Practice:
A spinoff of Grey’s Anatomy, this unorthodox practice located in California helps its patients with the most obscure of cases. The doctors aren’t just coworkers but friends, and occasionally a little something more which leads to a lot of drama, humor and the unexpected.
9. Narcos:
Based off the true story of Pablo Escobar, this action packed show takes you behind the scenes of what it takes to run one of the world’s largest drug rings...and what it takes to stop it.
10. Bob Ross:
Just, trust me.
