These shows will all have you glued to your computer/TV screen, and may force you to stay inside all summer. For that, I am not sorry at all.

10 TV Shows To Binge Watch This Summer

So summer is just around the corner, and it becomes even more tangible with every day until finals. To get finals off of your mind, and to start looking forward to the summer, here are the top ten shows you should watch this summer, in no particular order.

Entourage

I'll start out with a fan favorite. Simply put, if you haven't seen Entourage in its entirety, you need to. Featuring a young actor's climb through the ranks of Hollywood and his four best friends from Queens, New York, its extravagance and humor makes you want to jump into the TV, and be part of the gang. Entourage is eight seasons long, which takes some time, but you won't want to stop watching.

It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Arguably my favorite show ever, Always Sunny has a very specific type of humor, and if it fits yours, then it will be a great show to watch. It's a ridiculous comedy with even more ridiculous plots and characters, and watching the five of them try and out-do each other in their sociopathic ways, is a lot of fun.

Game Of Thrones

GoT is one of the most popular shows on TV right now. It is a show that takes place in the medieval times, yet in a different world with dragons, mystery, and a lot of gore. While that may turn many off, this is not your typical show. The numerous characters and plot lines make the show very intricate, and it is more focused on the relationships between people, kingdom rivalries, and the exchanging of the "Throne," than its mystical parts. It's absolutely worth the watch, and if you want to speed through the first four seasons, Game of Thrones is almost halfway through its fifth season, so you can catch up.

Friday Night Lights

Influenced by the amazing sports movie with the same title, FNL is an extended, "re-do" of sorts, to create a longer, more intricate story (yet not one based on a true story like the movie). It follows a new high school football coach in a small, football-centered town in Texas. Like the movie, the entire town puts a ton of pressure on the team to win the State Championships every year, and that has an effect on the coach, his family, and the high school kids.

How I Met Your Mother/Friends

I put these two together because they are very similar shows, and are both extremely long. While Friends is usually the fan favorite, others I have spoken to, as well as myself, prefer How I Met Your Mother, simply because we saw that in its entirety first. Both are extremely funny, have amazing story lines, and are addicting to watch. If you are up for the challenge, I would suggest watching both, but it is a daunting challenge of 19 seasons of television, when the two are combined.

The Sopranos

Critically acclaimed and considered one of the best written shows of all time, The Sopranos is an unbelievable drama. It follows Tony Soprano, the newly appointed head of the New Jersey Mafia, and his personal and family struggles. It is not your usual "mafia movie show", in that a majority of the show chronicles Tony's apparent panic disorder, and the boss of a mafia family going to therapy regularly, which is unorthodox. Top to bottom, it's an unbelievable show.

LOST

LOST is one of the most polarizing shows that I can remember. Most people that I have spoken to about it love it, but that is only because they are the only ones that have finished it, and they enjoyed doing so. LOST is about a plane that crashes on a remote island, and the passengers of this plane learning to survive on an island, while they wait for rescue. As the show progresses, there are several twists and turns that are too much for some viewers, but for others, they are extremely fun and interesting. It all depends on your perspective. I highly suggest trying it out.

Suits

Suits is an interesting show. While most would dismiss it since it is a show about lawyers, it definitely keeps things interesting with the dynamics of the characters, and the storyline itself. For a quick summary, Mike Ross, an unbelievably smart college dropout who takes LSATs for people for money, enters an esteemed law firm and outsmarts one of the partners, who then offers him a job. It follows the two of them as Mike works to become a great lawyer, while simultaneously trying to hide the fact that he never actually went to law school. It is a really fun watch.

Breaking Bad

Winning multiple Emmy's and Golden Globes and spawning a spin-off show in the process, Breaking Bad is a phenomenal drama. It follows a high school chemistry teacher in New Mexico, who seems to be the most bland person ever. However, when he is diagnosed with cancer and realizes that he hasn't provided enough for his family to survive without him, he joins an ex-student and meth-user in creating his own batch of meth to sell. Together, they work to create a meth empire, and watch the world around them change as the obstacles they face become bigger, and more dangerous. I highly suggest this show, you won't be able to stop watching it.

Disclaimer: You may watch the first season (only 7 episodes) and not be that interested because of its dark style and somewhat uneventful nature. DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED. I did this and waited a full year to watch the second season, and I promise, this show explodes like no other. You will love it.

True Detective/Bloodline

This one is a kind of wildcard suggestion that I have for you. I put the two together because they are similar shows with great casts, and are only one season in, so if you want to hop onto a new show then these are great ones to watch. I will go a little more in depth with these two than I did with the others, because I really loved them.

In only one season of watching True Detective, it was probably my favorite pilot season of any show I have watched. It is a dark, thought-provoking detective thriller that explores a serial killer in the depths of Louisiana, and follows around two partners (Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey), in their pursuit of the killer. I highly suggest it. With its anthology style, however, the second season (coming out on HBO in June!) will star an entirely new cast and plot. Season two stars Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch (from FNL). And season two promises to be just as good as the first. Recently released on Netflix in its binge-watching, all-at-once form, Bloodline is an intense thriller that surrounds a tight family in the Florida Keys. When their estranged brother comes home for a ceremony after a long time away, all hell breaks loose in the family dynamic, and it gets going extremely fast. I promise, the first episode alone will have you hooked.

So you may not be able to watch all of these this summer, but this is a pretty solid list of shows to check out (essentially my favorites), and I promise that they will all leave you satisfied. Good luck on finals!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
