With Super Bowl 50 just around the corner, fans across the country are starting to plan for the most anticipated game day of the NFL season. Some fans will stay at home with family, some fans will spend time with friends, and other fans may end up stuck at work or college. Either way, this is a day football fans look forward to each season.
This year, Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos will face Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers at Levi Stadium in San Francisco, California. Although the Panthers finished their exciting season with just one loss and dominated every opponent during the playoffs, a lot is on the line for Peyton Manning as this might be the last game of his legendary 18-year career. Whether or not you’re a Panthers or Broncos fan, football fans and sports analysts all know this should be one of the best Super Bowl games the football world has seen in awhile. And if you’re like me, you’ll be rooting for Peyton Manning the entire game. Below are 10 things you will need for this year’s Super Bowl weekend:
1. Food
One of the best parts of Super Bowl Sunday is the assortment of foods family and friends make for the exciting occasion. Its one of the few days out of the year that you have a perfectly reasonable excuse to stuff your face. Wings, various types of chips and dips, pizza, meatballs, and sweet desserts are just a few of the delicious options.
2. Beer
Football is typically associated with drinking beer and having a good time with friends. Super Bowl Sunday is no exception. So, crack one open and say—cheers to the game.
But only if you're 21, of course.
3. Family and Friends
Whether you're going to be with family or friends, Super Bowl Sunday is the perfect opportunity to invite people over, cheer for either team or your favorite players, and spend quality time with fellow football lovers.
4. Sports Gear
Even if you're not a Broncos or Panthers fan, it's still okay to wear your respective team's jerseys or other football gear. Or if you're like me, you might consider picking up a Peyton Manning shirt before Sunday.
5. Large TV
This one is simple, no one wants to watch the Super Bowl on a small TV.
6. An Object to Take Anger Out On
If you're anything like me, you need something - preferably something soft - that you can throw across the room if and when something exciting happens or even when something makes you really mad.
.
7. Your Respective Superstitions
If your team happens to be in the Super Bowl this year or even if you're rooting for Cam Newton or Peyton Manning, all football fans have their own superstitions they strongly believe helps their football team win games. So, if your superstition is a favorite hat, a pair of socks, or even where you sit during a game, make sure you have your juju ready to go on Sunday.
8. Decorations
Even if your team isn't in the Super Bowl, it's still fun to decorate the living room or kitchen during the exciting day to get into the football spirit. However, if your team is in the Super Bowl, it's a perfect opportunity to pull out all of your Broncos or Panthers decorations.
9. Advil
If your team happens to be the Panthers or the Broncos, you will definitely need Advil for the headache you're going to get if your team loses or if you're stressed throughout the game.
10. Leftovers
Unfortunately, the Monday after the Super Bowl can be quite diffcult for football fans across the country. On that Monday, we have to accept that there wont be any football games until the fall. We'll definitely need the leftover comfort food to helps us accept this travesty.
So whether you're a die heart Broncos fan or a die heart Panthers fan, a Peyton Manning supporter, or just love watching the Super Bowl every year, you'll need family, friends, and good food to celebrate the exciting day.
