10 Things From The Early 2000s That Should Make A Comeback

I'm sure we all have our favorite clothes from junior high, and it is definitely time to pull them out of the closet (again).

Trends are constantly changing, and being in college it's easy to feel a heavy responsibility to keep up. There are many things though that went out of style that really do need to make a comeback.

1. Colored Skinny Jeans

We probably all remember these from our junior high days. If you didn't own a pair of pink skinny jeans, you were probably out of the inner circle. It was fairly typical for groups of friends to be walking around looking like a crayon box.

2. Avril Lavigne

There was really nothing better to do in the angsty teenage years than to rock out to "Complicated" in your room for hours. Avril Lavigne was something everyone could bond over. I even remember my mom having that CD in her car. "S8ter Boi" was a great influence on teens who were already immensely confused about their love lives.

3. Diaries

No one has to actually call it a diary if they don't want to, but keeping a journal can be very therapeutic. Everyone had a diary when they were little to keep their most personal secrets in, but they can be used to just write down stuff about your day. Bonus: It will improve your writing skills.

4. Denim Skirts

I'm pretty sure there were like a million songs that bring up how sexy a girl looks in a denim skirt. I'm still very confused why short denim skirts ever went out of style, but I think now would be a great time to bring them back. Especially accompanied with some UGG boots!

5. Juicy Couture

I still have nightmares about all the Juicy track suits and perfume that flooded the halls in junior high. Juicy Couture was a staple for most girls, and if you didn't have it, you were pretty much out. What's more comfortable than a track suit though?

6. Blonde Tips on Men

There was a time, a long long long time ago, when tips on men were all the rage. In that time, the number of marriages in the United States didn't go down, so I think it's safe to say that blonde tips are the way to go.

7. Ed Hardy

If there is one thing I really loathe in life, it is Ed Hardy. If you were in Southern California about 5-7 years ago, you saw Ed Hardy everywhere. Now what is really so cool about weird animals and Ed Hardy's name? The world will probably never know, but I remember clinging to my Ed Hardy trucker hat, v-neck and flip flops.

8. Tall Tees

I will probably never get over that I talked to guys in junior high that wore tall tees on a daily basis. First of all, what the heck is a tall tee, and who gave it that name? A tall tee? That is one trend I will never understand, but if you really want to win a girl's heart on the first date, a tall tee is the way to go.

9. Toms

I know these are maybe still going out of style, but seriously, why? I own like five pairs of Toms shoes and I would love to use them sometime. Plus you are a real humanitarian if you wear Toms; I'm sure all the kids in Africa need shoes that have virtually no support.

10. Logo Tee Shirts

I work at Abercrombie, and we still sell various items that say Abercrombie or A&F on the front. You can pretty much go into any store and get something with their logo on it, but really, those used to be all the rage. I mean honestly, why wouldn't you want everyone to know where your clothes are from?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
