9 Things To Do At Disney When The Ride Lines Are Too Long

Sometimes you just can't be bothered to wait in those insane lines, but don't worry, you can still have a Disney day!

I just got an annual pass to Disney World. I have had one before but it has been a few years. I was so excited to go this Saturday, but when we got there, it was insanely busy and the lines for rides were crazy! Pirates of the Caribbean was 75 mins, Space Mountain was 180 minutes! Having ridden all of the rides before, I just couldn't stand to wait that long!

Thankfully, I found nine things to do to keep me satisfied with my Disney day!

1. People Watching

Disney is the perfect place to people watch! People travel from all over the world to come to Disney. You will see all walks of life at Disney, it really is an experience. Plus its really fun to see all the little kids in their cute Disney costumes. And it is interesting to see all the little things that Disney workers do around the park to keep it clean and running smooth.

2. Resort Hopping

Every Disney resort is so different and unique. When you need a break from the crowds, hop on the monorail and ride to the Polynesian, the Contemporary, and the Grand Floridian. There are restaurants, bars, shops, and lots of cute details to see. This is a great way to take a break from the heat and get a bite to eat!

3. Eat Lots of Snacks

Honestly, like this is probably the best part of Disney! I could go on and on about all the snacks there are to eat at the parks! I highly recommend Dole floats, LeFou's Brew, cinnamon rolls, gelato, or popcorn! You could go for days and never eat the same thing at Disney! Granted, this may be the most expensive alternative to rides but a lot of the snacks are shareable! Indulge!

4. Club Cool

OK, so something that seems to slip past people is Club Cool in Epcot. This place is awesome! You can try soda from 8 countries... all for FREE! This is fun and educational. Plus, free soda, NEVER pass up a chance for a free drink at Disney!

5. Around the World

So, yes, most people know about the world showcase in Epcot, but there is so much to see that people don't know about. For instance, there is an 18-minute film to watch in France, a perfect chance to catch some air conditioning. There are old artifacts, history booths, and lots of shops with stuff from all different cultures! Again, this is educational for kids too!

6. Character Photo Opportunities

Now, there may still be a line for these but sometimes they are quite a bit shorter than the rides. Also, who doesn't love meeting their favorite characters in real life? From Olaf to Mickey to Gaston, the list goes on and on!

7. Shows

Another thing that slips a lot of people's minds are the shows that Disney offers. I'm not talking about the Mainstreet shows, I'm talking about shows like the Country Bear Jamboree, The Tiki Room, The Hall of Presidents, Finding Nemo, Its Tough To Be A Bug, Indiana Jones, and so much more! Again, these are all great ways to catch so A/C and keep everyone entertained.

8. Interactive Scavenger Hunts

Want to keep walking around the parks and experience the magic? Do one of the interactive scavenger hunts that are perfect for the whole family! In Epcot they have Agent P's World Showcase, Animal Kingdom has Wilderness Explorers, and Magic Kingdom has the Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom (using the cards in the picture) and A Pirates Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas. These keep everyone happy and interested in the day!

9. The Forgotten Rides

Lastly, find those forgotten rides. There are a few rides that people tend to skip over because they aren't big and grand, however, this does not mean they aren't great! For example, the Peoplemover, the Carousel of Progress, Journey into Imagination with Figment, Three Caballeros, Living with the Land, or the Train are great rides to kill some time when you can't be bothered to wait for the other rides. Yes, these may still have a wait, but typically they are shorter than others.

Hopefully, these nine things will help you have a great Disney day even if the crowds are high and the lines are long! Just let the magic take your day wherever it goes!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
