11 Ways We Know Zeus Doesn't Know How To Talk To Girls

Getting some obviously isn't Zeus' forte.

Many of us have a fascination for certain mythologies. I have always had a fascination with Greek mythology. Especially when it involves Zeus. He is definitely a big playboy. Frankly, Zeus really could not keep it in his pants. You'd think that Zeus would know how to be a little more slick, being that he is a Greek God and all. So instead of pulling out his best game, he has found some obscure ways to get his flirt on.

1. Danaë - Seduced by Zeus's Golden Rain

Of all the ways Zeus has gotten into someone's bed, this is probably the oddest one. There is a painting of this scene where Danaë is being showered with golden coins, which is similar to a golden shower. She then gave birth to a son, Perseus. Her husband, King Acrisius went mad after the birth and locked her in a tower when Danaë was pregnant. After the birth, Acrisius put Danaë and Perseus in a wooden casket and threw them in the water. The best film to see this story come to life is Clash of the Titans.

2. Alcmene - Seduced disguised as Amphitryon

This is a bit normal compared to many of the ways that Zeus gets into women's pants, but it's still not what you would really call normal. Zeus appeared in the form of Alcmene's husband. This is very similar to the Arthurian legend of Uther and Igraine when Uther seduced Igraine under the illusion as her husband who was in battle, which resulted in the birth of Arthur. She is better known for giving birth to her son Heracles.

3. Leda - Bestiality as a swan

Zeus seduced this princess of Sparta in the form of a swan. Leda then went on to becoming pregnant and laid two eggs, from which Helen of Troy and Polydeuces were born. It basically sounds like bestiality. I think the reason he appeared in multiple forms of animals was because it was to go unnoticed by Hera.

4. Semele - An affair with Mortal Zeus

This, from my point of view, sounds like the most normal way of Zeus getting the girl. Well, maybe not. He was mortal during the affair, even though he is immortal. Hera tricked Semele into having Zeus do whatever she said by having him swear by the river Styx. Little did she know, that anyone who gazes upon Zeus in all his glory will burst into flames. Once Zeus appeared to her request, she was instantly consumed in the flames. Zeus then saved their son Dionysus by sewing him into his thigh when he was still a fetus.

5. Europa - Sex with Zeus in the form of a white Bull

Again, this sounds like the seduction of Leda. But it's still weird that he did it in the form of a bull. Zeus went on to create a bull in the stars, which is now the Taurus constellation. Zeus transformed in a tame white bull in order to mix in with Europa's father's herd. Once Europa sat on the white bull (Zeus), he swam Europa to the island of Crete where she became queen. She then had six children with Zeus; Dodon, Minos, Carnus, Alagonia, Rhadamanthus, and Serapadon.

6. Hera - Sex with his sister

Cough *incest* cough cough. You got to admit that marrying siblings will lead to trouble. I guess Hera was jealous all the time so she wrecked havoc on all the women Zeus fell in love with. The whole Greek family of gods and goddesses basically married each other. Their parents, Cronus and Rhea were siblings, so that may be why Zeus doesn't know how to talk to the ladies.

7. Eurymedousa - Seduced by Zeus in the form of an Ant

In the form of an ant? Really?? If you didn't notice from some of the previous women Zeus seduced, Zeus has a thing of seducing women (mortal and immortal) in the forms of animals. That's rather disturbing. But in the end, Eurymedousa gave birth to Myrmidon (Ant-Man).

8. Antiope - Sex in the Form of a Satyr

Once again, Zeus likes to change his form. A Satyr is a being who has the torso of a man and the legs of a goat. They were the woodland creatures in Greek mythology. As I mentioned before, my guess was that it was a way for Zeus to go undetected by Hera. Zeus seduced Antiope by force, but she was then rescued by Epopeus. Antiope, later on, gave birth to Amphion (son of Zeus) and Zethus (son of Epopeus).

9. Callisto - Seduced in the form of her husband

In this scene, Callisto is seduced by Zeus who took the form of Callisto's husband, Artemis. Honestly, what was wrong with Zeus' brain? However, this was really one of the few ways Zeus got the ladies, no matter how disturbing.

10. Dia - Sex as a Stallion

I'm sure we have all heard of Catherine the Great who was rumored to have had sex with a horse. This is somewhat similar. Dia was one of the many Greek goddesses in their mythology. But really, why would you want to have sex with someone in the form of a horse? Dia, later on, then gave birth to Pirithous who was a close friend of Theseus.

11. Aegina - Abduction and Seduction

In this last affair, Zeus took the form of an eagle and abducted Aegina and ravished her on a nearby island. Again, we see Zeus in the form of an animal, but we don't know if he seduced Aegina in that form or in his human/immortal form.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
