Dear you,

I know it's been long since we really talked. So today, I am asking you to take a pause. It is quite easy to get lost in this fast-paced world and lose a track of your inner self. I am sure there were moments you thought I was unfair because of the misfortunes I presented in your way. I am sure there were also moments when you loved me as you found yourself shining in this world.

Today i want to remind you yet again of why you matter in this world. I want you to remind yourself to live despite all odds because you have survived and continued to radiate your essence at every step of your way.

You have lived for years away from that one thing that is the most valuable to you in your life- your family! So never say you cannot live without something.

You have made friends who have become your family, who have cared for you and fought with you like your siblings. So, value friendship. Allow people to fill the holes in your life. At the same time, realize that things change and some friends leave.

You have been called beautiful. Don’t let it make you vain. Understand that exterior beauty will fade away. What will always remain is how you are on the inside.

You have been hated. Some people will dislike you regardless of what you do. Understand that you cannot always please everybody. Never change yourself just to please somebody. Be comfortable with your flaws.

You have been loved. You have experienced what it is like to be the center of someone’s world. Understand that true love is a chance , a gift. Value it. But also remember that love can fade.

You have been heartbroken. And it hurts. But, maybe you needed that to shake you; to help you see that you are worth more than you were settling for. Never let a heartbreak stop you from believing in love. Love will come, again. Allow it.

You have felt betrayed. Understand that there will be people who will take advantage of your sentiments. Realize that you trusted them more than they deserved.

You have been proud of yourself. You have beamed at what you are capable of accomplishing. Never let it overpower you. Remember that everything is temporary. Everything.

You have been sad. You know what is like to cry on a lonely night and yet mask those tears with a smile as some form of protection. Sometimes, embrace your loneliness. Remember that it’s ok to feel sad, to let out, to empty your mind. Remember that there are people who care. So, allow yourself to be vulnerable to them. At the same time, find solitude in yourself.

You have slept with a hungry stomach. You know what it is like to not have something that you really want. Remember, that’s what made you a fighter, a survivor! Never let misfortunes overpower your dreams.

You have slept by yourself on a pavement in pitch dark. You have faced darkness in life. Remember that fear goes for your weakest spot. Face it. You are stronger than your strongest fear.

Remember that things will not always perfect. You will be kicked in the a** at times. You will fail. You will feel helpless and it is a rotten feeling. Don’t let it paralyze you. Stand up. Take a deep breath and walk, somewhere, anywhere. Live.

I Love you.

Yours forever,

Zindagi / Life

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
