7 Things Every Overachiever Can Relate To
The Huffington Post

If you do any of these things, you might be an overachiever...and that's okay! Be proud of your hard work and don't be ashamed of it.

1. You secretly think you're work is never good enough.

You could work for days on end and never feel like your work is 100% right. Overachievers tend to have self-doubt, even after being constantly reassured of their excellence. This causes them to work even harder, if that's possible.

2. You tend to only work hard on things you'll be judged on.

Overachievers enjoy getting praised, it fuels their self-esteem. Many overachievers believe there isn't much of a point in working hard if you're not going to be judged on your work. For example, a school project would make them work a lot harder than something they are doing for themselves at home.

3. Everyone in your life expects to not see you if you have a big project coming up.

When there is something big coming up, that's all you can focus on. You are working on that assignment, project, job, etc. just about 24/7, and everyone close to you knows that.

4. The future is always on your mind.

Usually, you aren't an overachiever for no reason; you're an overachiever because you want to do well in the future. I was a huge overachiever in middle and high school, and this was so that I could get into a good college. I'll more than likely continue being an overachiever, because I can't really stop, and that'll help me get into a graduate program.

5. You volunteer for everything.

In school you were the student who always raised their hand to answer a question; you were involved in 10 clubs, 4 sports, and have 600 community service hours. Anytime anyone needed help with something, you were there to lend a hand.

6. You hate failure.

Obviously nobody likes failure but whether it's in school, work, or a relationship, you hate failing.

7. You overthink everything.

Every decision -- from deciding what to eat to buying a house -- is a huge deal. You spend way to much time on everything you do because you take so long to make decisions. You need to be sure you're doing the right thing.

No matter who you are or what you do, be proud of yourself! Nobody is perfect, so be happy with who you are!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
