I have been an avid YouTube watcher since YouTube's birth. That's right, back in 2005 when I was in the third grade I was tuning in to YouTube. I have yet to give up on it since. Sure, I will have time periods where I skip out on it, like college for example. But this summer I have found myself crawling back into it. With my obsession of YouTube flourishing again, I have been pleased to be back watching my all-time favorite YouTuber, Casey Neistat.
Casey is a daily vlogger, and I have been following his vlogs since he began creating them last year. How did I find him? Well, that part is a little fuzzy to me, but he probably popped up in my recommendations somewhere, or some other YouTuber I watch mentioned him in a video. Needless to say, I have been hooked ever since.
But, Casey is so much more than a guy who talks to his camera and posts it to the Internet. He is a filmmaker. Fortunately, you can check out these creations via YouTube. Beyond YouTube, Casey has built an incredible life for himself. He went from being a high school dropout to attending events such as the Oscars and The Met Gala. He also is an entrepreneur. Casey developed an app, known as Beme, that continues to grow in success and users each day.
"Why should I watch him?" you ask. Well, his content is immensely entertaining. Casey is based out of New York City, so his videos are pretty energetic and just make you want to watch more. In recent months, Casey has gotten drones so his vlogs now feature beautiful aerial shots of not only New York City, but any location he travels to. Oh, that is another thing, he travels, a lot. Basically I just wish I could be living his life; it looks like so much fun!
On top of it all, Casey has been an inspiration to me. The simple phrase "do more." is tattooed onto his arm, and after explanation of the tattoo, it is a phrase I try to live my life by. You can always be doing more, of anything. He also inspires me to create more, which I hope to do soon.
Despite the fact that he already has a following of over two million people, if this is your first time hearing of Casey, I urge you to go check him out.
