The Top 3 Worst Casual Dates You Should Stay FAR Away From

In This Article:

Dates are tricky, there's no denying that. However, some are notoriously worse than others, so here are the worst three that I would stay the fuck away from at all costs.

1. Blind dates

Giphy

Maybe it's just me, but I have NEVER been on a good blind date. As much as I appreciate my friends trying their best to set me up with a "nice guy", the dates always turn out to be more like "50 Shades of Awkward than Love at First Sight", or even Mutual Attraction at First Glance. If you've ever seen "Gilmore Girls", imagine I'm Lorelai and my date is Rune... the only way the night ends is with regret and not the good kind. To anyone thinking of going on a blind date in the near future- don't.

2. JUST a movie

Giphy

Movies seem to be synonymous with "Let's go home together" in the dating world, but nobody ever told me that fun little dating rule, so it took me a while to realize it. If you're reading this and your go-to date idea is a movie then for the love of God please be clear with your intentions. If you want to sleep with someone, just lead with that. If you're like me and are oblivious to that date tactic, do yourself a favor and just ask. I promise it won't be that weird- worst case scenario you don't go out and best-case scenario you get what you want out of the date.

3. The free date... for the other person

Giphy

Have you ever been on a date and felt like you were cheated out of everything? And no, I'm not just talking about the energy that you put into it, but your money and time. There is nothing worse than paying for the whole date, including gas money/an Uber, especially when the whole night was your date's idea. Paying for dinner, a movie/bowling/a show, and then the car that will get you the hell away from such a scam is the WORST. As much as I want people to see the best in each other, you should definitely keep an eye out for that "I left my wallet at home" red flag.

Sure, there are plenty of other bad date ideas, but as long as you can bypass these terrible ones then you're on the right track to a successful (or at least less awkward) first date.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
