12 Words That Mean Something Different To 'Supernatural' Fans

"Supernatural" fans are interesting, to say the least. Sometimes, they don't make sense at all to those outside of the fandom. And with 11 full seasons, there's no such thing as a casual binge on "Supernatural." So, for those who want to know what the kids mean when they talk about Moose and Squirrel or salt circles, but don't have to time to watch over 200 episodes, here's a list of words that mean something different to "Supernatural" fans than they do to the normal population.

1. Winchester

Normal People: A hunting rifle.

"Supernatural" Fans: The family that secretly protects the world from all supernatural horrors. Sam and Dean Winchester are the main characters of "Supernatural." They also single-handedly stopped the apocalypse. No big deal.

2. Salt

Normal People: A seasoning; Something that's on every dining room table and in every kitchen.

"Supernatural" Fans: A necessity for every ghost hunting kit.

3. Hunting

Normal People: Killing wild animals for game.

"Supernatural" Fans: Protecting innocent people from vampires, ghosts, werewolves, demons and more.

4. John

Normal People: A biblical male name.

"Supernatural" Fans: Possibly the worst father ever. Even a sandwich would be better.

5. Stanford University

Normal People: One of the world's most prestigious universities.

"Supernatural" Fans: The best place to go if you want to escape your family because, if you go, you can't come back.

6. Moose and Squirrel


Normal People: Woodland creatures.

"Supernatural" Fans: The king of Hell's nicknames for Sam and Dean, respectively.

7. Baby

Normal People: An infant or newborn; A term of endearment.

"Supernatural" Fans: Dean's 1967 Chevy Impala.

8. Death

Normal People: The end of life.

"Supernatural" Fans: Something that is never permanent; A man with an intense love for cheap food.

9. Tuesday

Normal People: The day of the week following Monday.

"Supernatural" Fans: The day that happens over and over again.

10. The Family Business

Normal People: A job that one takes over after one's parents.

"Supernatural" Fans: Most recited "Supernatural" line.

11. Idjits

Normal People: Idiot; A word no one uses.

"Supernatural" Fans: An affectionate, but exasperated term to describe Sam and Dean.

12. Half-brother

Normal People: A male sibling with only one parent in common.

"Supernatural" Fans: The one that everyone forgets; If you can rescue one innocent soul from Hell, it's certainly not him.
