Women's March – Some Poster Favorites

This weekend, an entire gender organized an event whose turnout had approximately three times the size of the audience at Trump's inauguration. The Women's March attracted hundreds of thousands of passionate protestors in cities across the world. It brought about enthusiasm, clever chants, and countless enjoyable witty posters. Some of the most iconic posters are circulating social media sites, and I wanted to share some of my favorites because they deserve as much recognition as possible.

1. "If you build a wall...my generation will knock it down!"

Allowing children to be involved in crucial parts of history is so important. This little queen looks so happy to be surrounded by powerful women!

2. "Science is Real"

Completely attacks Donald Trump's passive stance on the serious issue of climate change in a way that is simple, honest, and straight to the point. Gotta love it.

3. "If I make my uterus a corporation will you stop regulating it?"

This social media famous gal made a bold statement about women's reproductive rights AND corporation regulation all while sporting lots of pretty shades of pink. Iconic.

4. "If one man can destroy everything, why can't one girl change it?"

This is empowering to all the girls who think that they, as individual people, aren't able to create genuine change.

5. "I've seen better cabinets at IKEA!"

Okay I'm sorry but this has to be one of my favorites. It's simply clever and funny while still acknowledging the serious issue of Trump's problematic cabinet members.

6. "I march 4 my moms"

Who doesn't love a good dog picture? Combine that with this cutie's representation for LGBTQ rights and you've got a stellar Women's March protestor.

7. "White women, we need to look in the mirror and ask ourselves if we're doing enough to help all our sisters or just the ones who look like us."

This one's clever because it was made with a material resembling a mirror, and it's also extremely important because it's one of the few posters I've seen that acknowledges the issue of intersectional feminism (the only real feminism.)

8. "There is no planet B!"

Another important poster relating to the issue of climate change. It reminds us that this planet is precious and it's the only one we've got. I'm also sensing subtle hints of women's reproductive rights (Plan B?) which, if it was done on purpose, is absolutely iconic.

9. "I am a woman. I am a girl...we are important, we are beautiful, we are queens. Respect us, cherish us, vote us!"

Another adorable girl, another powerful poster, bringing optimism and hope for our youngest generation and our future.

10. "Why are you so obsessed with me?"

Who doesn't love a good Mean Girls reference? And this one especially is just so well done. Everyone can understand and relate, and it truly captures the feeling women have for male politicians' decisions regarding our privates.

11. This one speaks for itself.

12. "Ninety, Nasty, and Not giving up!"

This woman is fierce. It's amazing to see women of all ages marching for the same thing. Keep fighting girl!

13. "Future is Female. Marching for Maya"

If this Dad-Daughter moment doesn't make your heart melt you're just lying to yourself and that's that.

14. "Misogyny Kills"

Such a simple message but put in such a powerful way. Normalizing Arabic culture is so important in a political climate like this one. And this girl knew exactly how to make her messages heard.

Stay passionate women and men! We have the power to make history (and iconic signage!)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
