Going home for Winter Break can be an extremely exciting time, filled with adventure, excitement, and catching up with friends you have not seen in a very long time. Winter Break is a great time to do new things, as well as enjoy some traditions that you have done many times throughout your life. There are several ways you can spend your vacation time, and here are some things to do just in case you get bored, or are feeling like you cannot come up with an activity.
1. Hang out with your best friends from home.
Catch up with high school friends who you have not seen in a while, some since August! Have a lot of sleepovers, like you used to, and stay up late catching up with each other.
2. Participate in a secret Santa gift exchange.
Something that everyone enjoys! Always fun to do with friends or family who knows you the best and always knows what you want!
3. Go see a movie.
There are several new movies that are coming out this Christmas, including "Star Wars," "Alvin and the Chipmunks," "Christmas Eve," "Macbeth," "Joy," and many more. Seeing movies are always a fun way to get together with friends and family to relax and eat some popcorn.
4. Go shopping.
Everyone has those holiday gifts they need to get for people! But also, treat yourself to something nice... happy holiday's to you! Catch up on the shopping that you have not been able to do since you have been away at school, and get to those long awaiting stores you have been missing!
5. Work out.
Do not forget to stay in shape during the holiday time. Try out the new classes that you have been wanting to do. Something like yoga class, Soul Cycle, The Bar Method, Crossfit or anything that can keep you active!
6. Watch Netflix.
This is also a great time to relax and give yourself some personal time. Delve into a new show on Netflix. Some great shows you should watch are "Orange is the New Black," "White Collar," "One Tree Hill," or "Scandal."
7. Spend time with your family.
Remember that holiday time is for family time. Take your time to relax and catch up with your brothers and sisters as well as your parents who you have not seen in a while!
8. Eat a lot.
Make sure you take in the good food that you have at home. Including your moms home cooked meals, your favorite restaurant, and your favorite holiday goodies.
9. Bake.
The holiday time is a great time to bake, not only your favorite holiday treats but things you have been wanting to make ever since you saw that BuzzFeed food video on Facebook!
10. Go on vacation.
While trying to escape the cold go on a vacation, possibly somewhere warm, or if you live somewhere that is already warm, maybe go skiing or somewhere where you can enjoy the snow. Also, you can go visit your college friends who might not live near you who you are already missing!
11. Enjoy it!
This is one of the best time of the year. It is a great time for new beginnings as the year comes to a close. Make sure to spend time with your family and friends before going back to school. Enjoy every moment. Happy holidays!
