College students and Pawnee Goddess Leslie Knope certainly have one thing in common: they know what it's like to work around the clock to achieve their goals. After a long semester of all-nighters and deadlines, winter break is finally here for all college students to relax and enjoy. And, here are the stages of winter break, as told by Pawnee's most enthusiastic Parks Department employee.
1. Sleep.
With no classes and fewer responsibilities, winter break is the perfect time to catch up on all the sleep you lost partying, I mean studying this past semester.
2. Binge-watching your favorite shows.
There's nothing wrong with spending a few days on the couch, wrapped in blankets and finally watching the entirety of "Jessica Jones."
3. Eating all the food in the kitchen pantry.
Cause your college's cafeteria food is the worst.
4. Compulsively texting your best friends from school because you miss them.
I need to tell them about the thing my mom just said, or the sandwich I just ate, or the rerun of "Boy Meets World" I just watched! It can't wait!
5. When your dad tries to get you to unpack and clean your room.
Sure, your room will be clean and organized, but what do you really get out of finally unpacking?
6. Getting in the Christmas spirit.
After all, the holidays are here.
7. Spending time with the high school friends you missed while away at school.
You might only get to see them over winter break, but no one knows you like your high school friends. And seeing your high school friends means...
8. Swapping crazy stories about your semester.
Maybe it was just an "insanely good brownie," but either way, it's a great story.
9. Having to sit at the kiddie table at Christmas dinner.
You can't seem to keep up with kids and their memes these days. Who is DJ Khaled?
10. But then, one of the adults offers you a glass of wine at Christmas dinner.
Does this mean that I'm an adult, now?
11. Loving every second of waking up late and not having homework...
Literally, there's nothing better than sleeping in and having zero responsibilities.
12. ...until you have to go back to school.
All good things come to an end.
But, stay strong. You can handle anything this next semester throws at you.
Enjoy winter break, kiddos, and remember: Treat. Yo. Self.
