The 2017 New York Yankees are forces to be reckoned with. Even though they have had their share of injuries, they secured a spot in the postseason. I've been a fan since I was zero, and I definitely think this is one of their best lineups ever.
Starting with "baby bomber" Aaron Judge who won the Homerun Derby and broke the record for the most home runs by a rookie EVER. Judge obviously used the time off last time to perfect his swing because he now has an outstanding 50 runs for the season.
The 25-year-old also has an amazing 105 RBIs. Fans were definitely scared when he went into his "slump," but Judge quickly surpassed it. There's no question that he will receive "Rookie of the Year." I predict that he will have at least 60 home runs by the end of the season.
With our new additions, there was no way we weren't going to succeed. We secured pitchers Sonny Gray, Luis Severino, Jaime Garcia and our very own David Robertson. Together, this bullpen has been unstoppable. 23-year-old Severino leads with a 3.03 ERA and 221 strikeouts. Yankees veteran CC Sabathia has an incredible 14 wins.
Also a veteran, Brett Gardneris at 96 hits with his ultimate goal of the season being 100 hits. Gardner has proved time and time again how amazing of an outfielder he is. Another "baby bomber," Gary Sanchez has been on fire lately. He has 33 home runs and 88 RBI's.
Didi Gregorius has proved to be an amazing shortstop, even though I believe no one will ever come close to "The Captain." His "after the game" recaps on Twitter are very entertaining.
The clash of rookies and veterans has been a great combination. They are currently number two in the AL East standings, only two games behind the Boston Red Sox. With home team advantage coming up for the wild card, can they go all the way? We shall see what happens.
Let's go Yankees!
