Love yourself. Unconditionally.

When you love yourself the toxic parts of your life disappear because you stop relying on people/things to keep you happy. We spend too much time dwelling on why people do not love us or trying new things to love ourselves. But, maybe we should put that energy into loving ourselves. We are truly all we have.

The love we give ourselves is nothing compared to affection from another. They are two different kinds of love and let me tell you which feels the best. Loving yourself. Because once you have mastered that, nothing else matters. You won't settle for less than you deserve because you know you deserve the best. You stop hoping that someone will come along and help you with your insecurities but it starts with you.

Honestly, it is a challenge to wake up everyday and love yourself but it is worth it in the end. Those activities you were once scared to do will vanish because you will have the confidence to do them. That outfit you love to wear but someone made a rude comment once? Screw that-wear it and love yourself in it. You become selfish in a way that is also selfless. I know, very contradictory but hear me out. Once you love yourself it is inevitable that you'll love others.

We allow too many toxic people in our life because they each have a little control over us. They may make it seem like we need them or boost our confidence once in a while. But, you can do this yourself. You do not need someone to do these things. You stop judging others and start loving them. Because, honestly judging people is only harming yourself. It is wasting energy that you could be using on improving and loving yourself. Worry about yourself. They can worry about themselves.

There is nothing wrong with confidence with your body, looks, and abilities. Maybe don't flash it all around but you are allowed to be proud of who you are. You should be proud of who you are. Share your accomplishments to the world and the ones who truly care will support you. If they do not support you they should not be apart of your life.

Once you start to give the world love you will receive love. You will subconsciously surround yourself with loving and caring people. Be the person you have always wanted to be.

Once you begin to love yourself, I promise you will regret not doing it earlier.

You should go and love yourself. JB was right.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
