I constantly have girls tell me, “I just want a guy who will care for me,” after they have been hurt, once again, from a guy who they thought was genuine. Well, you may not even see it, but the guy you have been looking for all along could be sitting right in front of you.
Just for clarification, this doesn’t include a guy who may be stalking you. That isn’t normal. You should probably call the police on him.
There is no doubt in my mind that every girl has had a guy friend that has been there to support her in their lowest moments. Whether it be a parents' divorce, a break up or a struggle in school, his shoulder is open 24/7 for you to cry on.
He has been the most reliable person in your life for a long time. When you call at 3 a.m. you don’t have to question whether or not he is coming over to your apartment because he "can’t even” either and he agrees that “she had no right to call you that at your chapter meeting.” Why would you not want to be with someone who you can rely on when you get older no matter what?
His friends may call him “whipped” or “hooked,” but what it should be called is compassion. He is not a guy that only has one goal, like a lot of the guys you hear about today. In our society we have moved from an idea of humility to an idea of treating people as another object. It's time to realize that the guy who is always there for you, your best friend, could care less about trying to sleep with you. He loves deeply and wants to give that same compassion and love to you because you deserve every bit of it.
We understand that you have gone through a lot in the past because we've been by your side through it all. No matter what may happen in the future, we will still be understanding. We want to be the one to support you when you need it the most because that has been our goal all along.
With this being said, if you confront us about it, we may put up a front and deny it because we think we are told to be tough, but I guarantee you that as soon as you are out of sight we will be smiling from ear to ear. This moment is one that we have been waiting for. We even wish that it would’ve happened earlier.
