Why You Should Date The Farmer's Daughter

Dating the Farmer's Daughter definitely has it ups and downs. You can't help, but love her and at times, you can't help but hate her. Here are nine reasons why you should date one atleast once!

1. She’s Probably Stronger Than You

This girl has lived on a farm her whole life. When the cows and the chickens needed feeding and there was not anyone around to lift the 50 pound bag of feed, guess who did it? When heavy supplies needed moving, she was there. She can out lift you any day of the week

2. She’ll Love Her Animals More Than She Loves You

Animals are her life. She has birthed them, raised them, fed them, played with them. Her heart breaks when she sees them in pain, upset, and worst of all sees them die. She loves animals with all of her heart and nothing, not even you, can break that.

3. She Can Cook Like Paula Deen

She grew up learning from her mama, granny, and grandmother. Trust me, she knows how to use butter! But that stick of butter can turn into anything delicious if you give her the time and the ingredients. She can whip up fried chicken, biscuits, peas, creamed corn, and a pecan pie in an hour and you’ll want to go back for seconds!

4. She Loves Her Daddy

She is a daddy’s girl and there is nothing you can do about it! He was her first love and always will be. That being said, if one day you plan on marrying her you better get in his good graces and ask for her hand beforehand.

5. She’ll Probably Be Late for a Date or Two

It is common knowledge that the cows will get out at the most inopportune time and one of these times will probably collide with a date. Sometimes it won’t be a date. Maybe Ol’ Bessie is having a calf or one of the other billion things that can go wrong on a farm goes wrong. If any of these things happen, here is a word of advice for you; be patient. The problem should be fixed in an hour or two and if not, go help her out and make the date happen on the farm. There is nothing cuter than a guy willing to learn for his girl.

6. She Can Take You For A Ride on Her Tractor

It's no secret that she can probably operate just about any kind of machinery on the farm, including the tractor. If you have a tractor, at one point in your relationship you'll get into an argument if the colors of your tractor's clash!

7. She’s Not Afraid to Get Down and Dirty

This girl can go from the prettiest dressed up girl you have ever seen to dirty with mud all over her in about two seconds and not even bat an eye. But never underestimate how quickly she can get dressed up again either. She knows all the tips and tricks to getting it done

8. If You Hurt Her, You Better Watch Out

This girl does not get hurt easy, but when she does, she can seriously kick your butt. We already mentioned how much stronger she is than you and if you are not scared of her, there are plenty watching her back, that you better be scared of!

9. She Doesn’t Need You

She’s strong and independent. She knows what she is worth. She does not need you around to open pickle jars, feed up cattle, bail hay, or kill spiders (okey, maybe the last one). If you are in her life, it is because she wants you there. It’s not an accident she picked you. Don’t get mad when she wants to do things her way or by herself. This is how she was raised and the worst thing you can do is to try and change her.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
