Summers always bring so much fun: Everyone is out of school, the nights are warm (or hot as all get out), and people send their hard-earned cash to do any of the multitude of fun events and activities that summer offers. So why should you spend your money on expensive music festivals?
1. First and foremost, music festivals offer the chance to see your favorite artists up close.
If you're quick and smart about moving from place to place, you can get really good spots to see your favorite bands. Standing for three hours is worth it when your favorite musician comes over and sings straight to you!
2. They have fantastic fashion everywhere.
A ton of people don't care what they look like when they attend music festivals, which makes sense because it's usually miserable and hot with minimal shade. However, there are always plenty of people that take it upon themselves to stick it out and champion through the festival while managing to look fabulous. You'll always get to see this summer's latest trends and maybe even get yourself some inspiration to pin later!
3. Tons of healthy social interaction and they reduce stress levels!
Getting to have a bunch of fun and take a break from the reality of life for an entire weekend is one of the best ways to make sure you don't become dull from all work and no play. Going to music festivals lets you keep your cool during the week because you've had the opportunity to blow off some steam while listening to great music and dancing your butt off.
4. You're supporting small artists!
Everybody knows that while yes, there are big names that play at festivals, there always are lesser-known, newer bands that play there. While some people would rather skip seeing these bands that play earlier in the day to do other things, if you come early you get to show some support to startup groups. Festivals like these are how many bands get the chance to take off, and they always could use more bodies in the audience to listen and spread the word about them.
5. You get to dance at shows!
Nobody cares how badly you dance at these things because honestly, we're all just in our own little worlds when the music starts. You can quench those dance cravings by jumping, swaying, and shaking your butt with the rest of the crowds at each performance.
6. There is always delicious new foods for you to try!
Festivals that last for weekends obviously need to have refreshments to make sure people there don't pass out from starvation and dehydration. Rather than have the usual fair food, these places take it to the next level with gourmet food trucks and vendors! If you're a foodie, you'll definitely want to check these places out while you're there!
7. It's basically a religious experience.
There isn't much else that beats blending in with a crowd of a thousand (or many, many more) people swaying and singing the same words to your favorite bands. It helps you take your mind off of everything else in the world so that you can truly have some real fun and relaxation at these events.
With all that said, go out and get yourself some tickets to a the closest music festival near you. You won't regret it!
