Why Worry And Stress?

Why worry when God's got you?

Why Worry And Stress?
Alexandra Lynn Mura

Imagine this, you wake up in the morning and all your thoughts flood your mind. Get bills paid, run errands, work problems, ect. I don't know about you all, but for me this happens daily. Before my day begins I'm already worrying and stressing. Why do we do this though? Often times we worry and stress about stupid and trivial things we can not even control. God tells us that we should not worry. He tells us to cast our worries on Him, to trust Him, and He will provide.

1 Peter 5:7 "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." Something that is so hard to do is let go of our problems, and let God take care of them. I think that we sometimes forget that God truly cares about us. I believe that deep down we do know that God cares for us, but we get so caught up with life, worrying, and wanting things to go the way we want them that we loose sight of this. God loves us so much that He wants us to let Him take care of our problems, and love Him.

Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your Go will be with you wherever you go." God wants us to trust Him because He loves us and is always with us. Even though it seems like there are times God isn't with us He really is, we just aren't listening. Things won't always go the way we want them to, or in the time that we want them to. We just have to trust that God has us, and is with us all the days of our lives.

2 Corinthians 9:8 "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." God wants to bless us and give us the best. I know a problem I have is that i question God. "Do you really know what your doing? Why don't you just tell me what's going to happen? Why isn't this going the way I want it to?" All this questioning keep me from my blessings God wants to give me, and wastes my time when I could be using that time to give God glory. God loves us, and wants to bless us.

We worry and stress about stupid and trivial things that we can't control. We need cast our worries on God, trust Him, and He will provide. Things won't always go the way we want, or in the time that we want them to. We just need to let go, and let God. He knows what's best, and with God the outcome to our worries will be much better with Him than what we could ever do on our own.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
