I might be wrong, but I think that everyone has something that they dislike about themselves. Whether it's has to do with their looks, their personality, their strengths and weaknesses. It can range from anything. What we have to realize early on is that it's important to appreciate our imperfections. It might sound cliche, but nobody is perfect. No matter how much someone portrays themselves to seem perfect, we all have our own battles to deal with. You never know what someone is going through, or what their life is like. No matter what, you can't tell them that you understand what it's (exactly) like to be in their shoes. Everyone is different, and we have to respect that.
It can be difficult to love your imperfections. There are always other people that you want to compare yourself to, because you can't help it. Or maybe, your peers might make comments about you that have stood out. Maybe you're bullied, maybe there's a significant event that you had to go through. It's unrealistic to aim for perfection, because it's not achievable. What person wants to be the same as everyone else? Your imperfections are what make you, YOU.
Sure, there is always room for improvement. But obsessing over how you're "not good enough" or that you can never reach your goals is never going to help you, and will most definitely hurt you in the long run. It's a waste of time to feel bad for yourself. You don't need pity. You don't need to feel so insecure and unhappy with the way you are. There's a difference between changing for you, and changing for others. If you want to change something about yourself, go ahead and do it. But you have to make sure it's for the right reasons, and that it's not because you want to impress someone, or because someone wants you to change for them. It's your life, your decisions, your actions, your future. Every imperfection you have is what makes you unique.
Imperfections are what make you more familiar to others. Life isn't flawless, and you aren't either. That's not a bad thing, it's completely normal. It's what makes you human. There is so much social media that's out there, telling us to lose more weight, to work for abs. There's this stigma to have whiter, straighter teeth. Larger eyes, bronzed skin, beauty products to enhance our looks. Advertisements filled with models that have bodies that look impossible to achieve. It's what causes so many of us to have a negative body image, and therefore causes us to lack in self-confidence. If you don't love yourself, nobody will. If you want to change yourself, you should do it for you and no one else. Be proud of what you have, and embrace your imperfections.
