So last week I wrote an article talking about me being tired of the election week and how I couldn’t wait for it to be over so we wouldn’t have to talk about it anymore. Now to be fair, I meant every word I said. I was going to be officially done talking about politics after Tuesday night, no matter who won. But unfortunately, the results of who won are so mind-boggling that I can’t help but talk about it again. So if you haven’t heard by now, Donald Trump will be our next president of the United States. Even though he wasn’t my first choice to become president (like I said in my last article), I thought to myself hey, it is what it is so we have to accept it. Now the effects of what happened after he was elected, that’s what has me worried.

Before I go any further, let me start off by saying two things. 1.) I don’t believe all Trump supporters are bad people and 2.) I don’t think Donald Trump means the end of the world. Let me just say that I know some people who voted for Trump and they are actually cool people. They didn’t vote for him because they hated Mexicans or Muslims. They just voted for him because they didn’t like Hilary, and you know what, I can respect their own personal opinion.

Also, I don’t think Donald Trump means the end of the world anytime soon. Do I think he'll make some drastic changes that will affect certain people in different ways? Yes, I do and I think it will suck ass. Do I think he is an asshole? Yes, I do. But I don’t think that means the end of the world as we see it. With that being said, the thing that really has me scared about him being in office is the self-proclaimed power of supporters.

I know you’re going to say, “Hey but you said not all Trump supporters are bad." I do believe that. Not all Trump supporters are bad people. But see, there is a large majority of his supporters that are racist and hateful against minorities. The thing that makes it worse is that since he is now president, they feel like they are entitled to say any racist thing they want because Trump is in power and they feel it’s their “American right” to be as racist and ignorant to minorities as they want to without suffering any consequences.

You don’t believe me? Go on any social media outlet right now to see how many racist memes there are degrading a person of color, homosexual or Muslim. Yesterday I saw a video of white preschoolers teasing three Latino kids chanting, “build a wall." Can you believe that? Preschoolers. That’s sickening to me. Plus, I saw a meme with a white girl saying that when Trump reinstates slavery, she will be a “good slave master” to blacks. With a big smile on her face. Say what you want, but if that isn’t ignorance than I don’t know what is.

Look, at the end of the day Donald Trump will become our next president and there is nothing we can do about it now. But I just ask people to please be respectful to one another without degrading each other in some hateful way. We need to work together more than ever instead of pointing out each other’s differences and segregating ourselves even more. Also, for all the people who do support Trump and are not racist, I respect you and ask you to do one thing for me. Help us. Help us show those Trump supporters that are racist why they are wrong for what they are doing and how Trump being president does not give them permission to become assholes! That’s all I really got to say. Stay strong everyone. No matter how different we are from one another, at the end of the day, we’re all we've got. Peace.
