Let's Spread Love After The Tragedy In Manchester
The Daily Beast

Throughout my life I have used writing in response to tragedy. With every tragedy that happens in the world writing becomes more difficult, the words don't seem to flow quite as well. There's only so many times I can apologize to the families that have lost loved ones in senseless acts of hatred. I tried to stay silent about the events in Manchester but I feel everyone who has a voice has the obligation to make sure it is heard for those who have been silenced.

The events that transpired on Monday at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester hurts my heart and my soul for many reasons. Concerts have always been one of my favorite escapes. There's something about live music that allows you to leave everything behind and enjoy the moment you're in. The people surrounding you become family and for that moment you all seem to be one, sharing in happiness, joy, and freedom as one. The horrid action that took place stole those precious memories of togetherness and love from those who survived and stole future memories from those who did not. I am angry and I am saddened that events like this have become all too common today. My heart breaks for those that had to witness such a tragedy and those who were not able to continue living their precious lives because of it.

Through heart break, hatred, and sadness it is important to remember the love. The love that is shown by the people that help and the love that is shown across the world by people writing and singing and praying in memory of those who have been lost. I will continue living my life fully believing that love will always over power hate. Hatred will never be able to outweigh the overwhelming amount of love that you see spread throughout the world daily. There will always be light in the darkness, even if it's difficult to find, it's there.

Humans have always been resilient creatures and we will be okay. That being said, we need to do better. I don't claim to know the answers or how to solve every issue but at some point we must speak out. Sadly, as these attacks continue to take place people have begun to show prejudice and hatred towards particular groups and religions. I choose to not hate the masses because of the actions of few and urge that everyone consider the same. Love and understanding can go a long way in solving issues and I feel this is an area that we as humans have been struggling to understand. Love your neighbor; love them today especially, but love them tomorrow and the next day and everyday moving forward.

As we continue to move forward from this tragedy I urge you to look for the light in the darkness. If you can not find it I urge you to be that light. We all need each other to survive. Spread Love.

My thoughts, prayers, and love out to those who have been impacted by this event.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
