Why Traveling to at Least One New Place a Year is Essential
Google

It’s that time of the year-- the time in which life becomes physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. The workload continues to pile on. It seems endless and like it will carry on forever. You need a break. You need to get away. You need a vacation.

You will need more than a vacation-- you will need to go to a place you have never been before! I never understood why some people choose to go to the same location every year for a vacation. Doesn’t that location get old after a while? I think it is both healthy and refreshing-- and fun-- to go to a place you have never been before. And once a year, that is!

There is only so much that Google can show to you via a location’s pictures. A photographer will only show you what he or she wants you to see-- there may be more details that are left out and that can only be witnessed in person.

You can learn so much traveling somewhere new. There are many hidden gems located within every new location you go to, and it does not have to be a faraway, remote location. Even going a few towns next door might have so much to offer-- and so much that you never knew existed there before! After all, it’s the little things in life that end up making the greatest impact.

It’s always fun to set foot and see what the world has to offer! You may be surprised by what you find. There may be a lot of things to see and a lot of activities for you and your family/friends to do! It is great to get away from the daily hassle and routine-- it’s great to get away!

Traveling definitely broadens your mind. Once your mind sees something that it has never seen before, it will not get that imprint out of your brain. You will see things in ways you have never seen before. When you eventually come back home, you may even compare certain things you have seen on your journey to where you are currently living.

With any form of traveling, it will greatly reduce stress and anxiety. Even the thought of getting away can mentally get you away. Most of our minds never shut off. Even at night, it can be a challenging task to shut off our busy minds. We simply do not know how to calm down our thoughts-- and traveling can calm us down and remind us that it’s healthy to clear your mind, slow down, and unwind.

Studies from Italy have also proven that traveling at least once a year-- or “vacations,” in this sense-- decreases the risk of having high cholesterol and having a heart attack. Ever notice why most Italians seem to be calm and happy? It’s because they travel at least once a year and detox their minds from stressful thoughts. If Americans did the same, not only would our lives be less stressful, but they would also be happier, and we may end up living longer, too!

There’s nothing worth stressing over in this life. Life is too short! Always be sure to make time for friends,

family, leisure, travel, new experiences, and fun! One day, it will all be gone. So be sure to pack your bags, bring your friends, family and be prepared to have some serious fun!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
