On every social media website since the summer, you can find an article about these mysterious clowns that are popping up all over the United States. No, this is not some horror movie on TV or the theme to American Horror Story, this is really happening. People are dressing up as creepy clowns, going into woods or college campuses, and tormenting people who see them. These people are hurting our everyday lives. They make us fear to walk home at night or even broad daylight. It is effecting our every day lives as well as our educations and it should not be considered a joke to people.
When students walk home from classes at night, there should not be a fear of a clown sighting. This is damaging our chances to learn as well as our social skills. People who have night classes will not want to attend them because they will be scared to have to walk home. When we do not go to class we will not learn and by not learning we are not only losing the money we paid to be in those classes,we are hurting our chances to learn.
Many people have begun to ask how can we stop them? What needs to happen is we need to stop giving these people what they want. Attention and encouragement. When they receive these they believe they need to continue what they are doing. We video tape them, take pictures of them, and even get groups of people to go out after them. Pennsylvania State University students got together Monday night to hunt down four clowns. They had police, on bikes and in cars, and an ambulance at the scene. For four guys or girls dressed in clown costumes.
I do not believe they are all dangerous. Some have probably just jumped on the bandwagon and decided to do this for fun. However, there are some that could be dangerous and we cannot risk stopping to see if they are harmless or not. We should consider them all dangerous and work together to cut these people out once and for all. We need to force them to take down their big top once and for all.
