Why Should You Vote

Why it important to vote this election season.

Why Should You Vote
New Orleans Advocate

I know many people who would not like to vote because of how they feel about the current candidates for this election. They are not the greatest in the world, but we honestly do not have a choice of anyone else, unless you choose to vote third-party.

Many people have made the comment that they are not even voting for the Presidential election because they do not like either of the candidates. In my opinion, I feel like I have an obligation to vote. You are not going to completely agree with one hundred percent of whoever you vote for no matter what or whenever you vote.

The majority of the people I have talked to about the election mention that evil versus evil. I can see that, but I honestly think people are looking at it differently than what they should be. Everyone should vote the way they believe would be the best President, but by doing so, you should vote for someone that you agree with the most. I personally voted for the person I believed would be the best President out of the two options. I looked to see what their viewpoints were on for the major things that are very controversial right now in the United States and the points I believe that are important to believe with my viewpoints.

There were some things that I did not agree on with the person I voted for, but I did not agree with most of the things that the other candidate was for or against and that is why I did not vote for that person. I voted because I believed that this candidate was the most fit for the position as President and that God was leading me to vote for this person.

Even though we think everything is going to continue to go downhill after this election, we just have to trust in God with His plan because His plan is the only thing that matters. Not what we think will happen or what we want to happen, because we have no control over what happens, we just have to voice our opinion this election by voting.

I hope as election day comes, you will have peace about your decision and that you will not be mad with whoever wins the Presidential Election this year. As Christians, we need to pray about this election and pray for this nation as we transition to a new President over the United States.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
