The 2016 political atmosphere is certainly one to remember. I don't think I've ever lived through a time when so many people were paying attention to the presidential race. The whole country, heck, the whole world has eyes on two candidates: Hillary Clinton (Democratic nominee), and Donald Trump (Republican nominee). While it seems that, in general, the majority of the population isn't thrilled with the two choices, demonstrated through the unusually high recognition and votes for third party candidates, we know that come November, a choice between the two must be made. While it will be an extremely close race, only one will be the president. Will America be graced with our first ever woman president, or will America choose the savvy, successful businessman to be the next POTUS?
I, for one, am #NeverTrump. Why? Donald Trump is just too dangerous for America. He has demonstrated this throughout his entire presidential race through his various political stances and his views on the many different issues.
1. Trump is just too dangerous.Trump, unlike Hillary, is a liar. Hillary is the honest candidate. I'm sure you have seen the latest news on her email scandal. Throughout the investigation, Hillary continuously said that she never sent or received any classified material. She professed to the public that she gave in all of the emails on her private server, and that she did nothing wrong. FBI Director Comey came to Hillary's rescue, not recommending that the prosecutors bring the case into the court of law. Calling her "extremely careless", and disproving/dismissing her claim that she never handled classified information on her personal email server, Comey had a few compliments to pay to Hillary. Here is a summary and some quotes from Comey's official statement about the case:
He stated that there was evidence that she and her colleagues were "extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information". He stated that in addition to the emails that were sent, "There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position...should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. In addition to this highly sensitive information, we also found information that was properly classified as Secret by the U.S. Intelligence Community at the time it was discussed on e-mail (that is, excluding the later “up-classified” e-mails)". He stated that it was "...especially concerning because all of these e-mails were housed on unclassified personal servers not even supported by full-time security staff..." He stated that even if these emails were not marked as classified, a person in such a powerful position, such as Secretary of State, is "obligated to protect it". After stating that the FBI knows, for certain, that "hostile actors" gained access to the email accounts of people Clinton was regularly in contact with through her personal email, and that she used her personal account in the territories of "sophisticated adversaries", it was concluded that these "hostile actors" probably gained access to her account. Don't worry though -- none of this was enough to recommend criminal charges. Comey clearly stated that though they would never suggest criminal charges for Hillary, anyone else in a similar position will be charged. Hillary is above the law, unlike the rest of us normal folk. In his words, "To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now." So, as we have clearly established, Hillary is the right choice because of her obvious honesty -- heck, why not call her George Washington?
2. I will never support Trump because he will not be able to work with others -- he is not a leader. Hillary, along with her family, can get along with just about anyone. Her husband, Bill, I hear, is great friends with Attorney General, Loretta Lynch. In fact, I hear that right before the final decision was made about the Hillary email scandal, Bill had a private meeting, in a private plane, with just himself and Lynch. Don't worry though, there was no interference with the case. Lynch stated that they talked for over an hour about normal, everyday topics. We all know that Bill, just like Hillary, has a stellar history with telling the truth. It worked out in the end though, because Lynch testified to the public that because of this incident, she would forego her job responsibilities, and blindly accept whatever Director Comey recommends. You know, to prove that the meeting was all in good taste. What a relief!
3. Trump just doesn't understand the issues that are important to Millennials. I, as a 19-year-old college woman, understand this more than anyone. Hillary, as well as many Democrats, have made it clear that the only "acceptable" issues that citizens my age are allowed to promote and discuss are the ones that liberals promote. We are supposed to support groups that claim they are peaceful, and claim that they support social justice. Even if we disagree with it, if we are truly progressive, we should just blindly follow whatever Hillary and the left suggest. If you dare to veer off the beaten path, you will be criticized harshly. You don't agree with transgender men and women sharing bathrooms? How ignorant. You think that the Black Lives Matter is getting too violent, you are ignoring "facts" and are obviously uneducated. Don't worry though, at the University of Wisconsin you will get psychological help for saying anything that can be construed by anyone listening as "racist". I don't know about you, but I will always support a candidate that curbs, caps, and silences, my freedom of speech. How refreshing!
4. Trump is a male. Hillary should be elected because, it is about time a woman became president. America, without a doubt, should cast their vote based on the gender of the candidate. What a role model she is. Who needs to worry about the issues or political corruption when we can have a woman in office. How exciting! I am so glad that Hillary, tried and true, can represent women in office.
