Why We Need To Take More Pictures
Francesco Mugani

Our lives consist of a series of memories. These memories are all of the events that happen in our life. The pictures we take give us the ability to reminisce on all of the things we have experienced. They give us the opportunity to remember the moments that we may have never thought about again. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, I can only imagine how many thoughts and memories a picture can bring back. So why do so many of us avoid taking these pictures? Taking the time to take a picture can give us many laughs and memories for the future.

Taking Pictures Takes Us Back in Time

Time travel isn't something that has been invented yet, the closest thing we have are the tangible things from the present and past that we can hold on to. The longer it has been since a certain moment, the less vivid it becomes, until sometimes we don't even recall that memory anymore.

We Can Remember the Timeline of Our Life

If you take a picture on your phone, or even get one developed, they usually come with a timestamp so you can recall when that picture was taken. I know that personally I feel like I used to remember more, and now the older I get, the less I remember about my childhood. Parents love to take pictures because they realize how important it is to keep track of even the little moments because the little moments make the best memories.

The Little Moments are the Best

Yes, the big events that happen in our lives are going to be the ones we remember more clearly, however we have to remember that there are millions of little moments that also create our lives. The little moments are the everyday experiences we have, the little things that make us laugh or cry. The little moments are the things that end up meaning the most. When you look back on your life you'll remember your wedding, the day one of your parents died, or the day you had your first kid, but when someone brings up that times where you and your roommates stayed in, ate pizza and watched a movie, or the time you and your sister spent four hours at the mall looking for shoes for her, you'll laugh at those moments. The little moments will always be special. Without the little moments, there wouldn't be the big moments.

It Only Takes Two Seconds

When you look back on that picture in five years you won't be thinking about if it took a few seconds to take it, but you'll look at it and remember way more than a thousand words worth of memories. You'll remember an event that you may have never thought about again, and you'll have an exact snapshot of what that event was like.

So why not take the extra few moments it takes to remind yourself years later about what your life was once like. Give yourself a chance to let your kids laugh about the style that once was, and let them see what your life was like before you were a parent. Or even just use it to remind yourself in the next year or even 20 years what you looked like and bring you back to the times when life was different. Take that extra photo—you won't regret it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
