They say you make your best friends in college. Personally, I made my best friends in high school and feel no shame about it, despite the judgement from others. Your friends from high school are the friends who were by your side through your firsts -- your first failed class, first time driving, first love and first breakup. Just when your life feels like it is falling to shambles, your friends are there to lift you up.
You have seen each other at your worst, therefore, there is no hiding who you truly are. Be it laughing, crying or dancing around in a big T-shirt, your true friends from high school won't judge you, but will join you.
You have too many inside jokes and embarrassing pictures to count. At the end of a bad day, starting a group message with your friends, where you send embarrassing pictures and talk about your inside jokes, can turn the entire day around.
Most importantly, you pick up right where you left off. No matter the distance or time that separates best friends, the minute you see them, it feels like you just saw each other the day before.
After longing to have a girls night for months, summer break is the greatest time of year, when most of your high school friends are back in town and you can finally reminisce about old memories, while making new memories.
