It is no secret that the "Friends" series had plenty of iconic romantic interests that have made a lasting impression for more than a decade. While every single one of them had their set of quirks that usually caused the relationship not to last, there is one romantic partner whom I feel is extremely underrated: Mike. While Mike and Phoebe luckily did wind up working out and getting married, I feel like Mike always gets overlooked when he was easily the greatest love interest of the entire ten seasons.
1.When he persuaded Phoebe to still give him a chance, despite their unconventional meeting.
Even though they had met through Joey, who had randomly picked Mike at Central Perk as a double blind date for Phoebe, Mike worked to prove to Phoebe that he actually did like her.
2. Letting nothing stop him from impressing her.
Nothing stops a true pianist from proving that they can play piano, and Mike pulled all the stops to prove just that. This is also arguably one of the best scenes of the entire show.
3. When Mike fought David for Phoebe.
The only way two men should fight for a woman, tbh.
4. Every single time he proposed to her.
Mike tried over and over to have the cliche perfect proposal, and every single time Phoebe hated it, until finally he just said how he really felt and left us all in tears.
5. His perfect wedding vows.
Once again, Mike leaves us all in tears and searching for the real life version of him.
6. And when he changed his name to match Phoebe's Princess Consuela Banana Hammock.
