Why I Love Sea Isle City

Why I Love Sea Isle City

1. There are no gas stations.

You can look, but you wont find any gas in the 93 streets of this small area. The only gas station you can find is an abandoned one next to the main shopping center. Good luck getting gas from there. The next closest station would be the one right outside of Sea Isle next to Oceanview Campgrounds. That's one thing that drives residents crazy.

2. You haven't had a hot dog if you haven't had a Bubba Dog.

Bubba Dogs is a food stand located at 59th street and they always have a line. From burgers to dogs and drinks and snacks, Bubba's got you covered. Everyone in Sea Isle will tell you that the best place to get a hot dog is at Bubba. Take a walk down the beach and burn your feet on the sand for a great reward—the great beauty and taste of a Bubba Dog.

3. If you wanna be like the cool kids, head to JFK boulevard at night.

If you vacation in Sea Isle, you know that the promenade is a place where everyone goes to walk, like a mini boardwalk. But once you reach JFK Blvd, there are teenagers everywhere. Yup, this is the place where you can find yourself crammed between young teens to get somewhere and lucky not have someone look at you weirdly or try to fight you. Kids are usually high or drunk here and the cops are usually around that area because it is always crowded and sometimes bad things happen here. JFK is the heart of the city yet it is infested with bad kids most of the time. It's annoying, if you ask me.

4. If you wanna catch a scenic view, head to the other side of your street.

At the other end of any street, if you go to opposite way of the beach, the Sea Isle bay is right there. Sunset and the peak of dawn are the best times to check it out. The light reflects perfectly on the water and the colors just shine right onto your face. It's like a dream come true! Fellas, if you want to end a perfect date in Sea Isle, take your date to the bay at sunset and watch the sunset together. Your date will love you forever.

5. You don't need a car here.

Everything in Sea Isle is walking and biking distance. I myself ride a bike around the town because it makes it easier to get around. My family hardly uses our car unless we are going to Wildwood or another place outside of town for the night. It's way more fun to walk around Sea Isle because you get to catch the great breeze and the warmth of the sun soaking on your body. Riding a car around Sea Isle just doesn't cut it. Get a bike or walk around; everything is close. I always get groceries on my bike because it is close to my shore house and it is a lot more fun and satisfying than driving my car over to the Acme. Most places in Sea Isle have bike racks so you can lock your bikes; the majority of residents own and ride bikes around the town.

6. Play by the Bay park is the place for all ages.

One of the parks in Sea Isle is located next to the abandoned gas station mentioned earlier, Play by the Bay. There is a baseball field, skate park, a kids' playground, basketball court, a tennis court and even an ice hockey rink! In the summer, you can find teens and adults playing basketball while younger kids are skating or playing in the playground. Many adults like to play tennis, and since the park is located just a few feet from the bay, you get that nice bay breeze and it always smells wonderful over there. Play by the Bay is where I have many memories as a child from vacationing at Sea Isle, and it is one of the best places to let your kids let loose and have fun.

7. There's something for everyone here.

Sea Isle City is full of things for all ages, including bars, shops, parks and more. Anyone here can find a place to go and hang out. Sea Isle is the perfect vacation spot for family and everyone should come and check it out. Let your kids roam the safe streets of Sea Isle and explore the world around them. When I first went to Sea Isle City in 2008, I was going to be in sixth grade and my parents let me roam freely. I found so much to do in Sea Isle. Now that I'm older, I'm able to see the full beauty of this amazing city.

As you can see, Sea Isle is my home, where everyone is happy and free. There is so much to do here and everyone is friendly. The next time you want to take a family vacation, put Sea Isle City on your list.
