Some of us are lucky to be born in one of the greatest places in the world. I am talking about my ole Kentucky home. If home is where the heart is then my heart is with these bluegrass hills. There are so many reasons to love Kentucky and here are just a few.
It is all about family.
We know blood is thicker than water. We love our families and would do anything for them. Our big events are all about getting together with the family. We are close to our loved ones and we would not have it any other way. We know how to have each other's backs and how to love.
Our C-A-T-S
There is nothing like a UK basketball game. We all bleed blue and we love it. We are proud of everything our cats do! Nothing can bring us together faster than tailgating and a good game with people we love. We are known around the nation for our basketball. If you speak sports you are speaking our language.
It is full of adventure.
We have tons of spaces to roam whether that is on a horse, an ATV, or Truck. We have the best lakes to go tubing or fishing on. We have beautiful hikes with breathtaking waterfalls. We have mountains to climb and go sledding down. There is adventure all around.
Four Seasons
We get all of the seasons an equal amount of time. Just when you are getting sick on one season it is time for the next one. We know how to bath in the sun, jump in a pile of leaves, build a snowman and grow a garden. We get to see nature is all of its forms and it is truly a beautiful experience.
It is full of hard workers.
In Kentucky we are not afraid to get our hands dirty. We push ourselves to the limit and never quit going after what we want. We are surrounded by some of the best farmers, miners, teachers, and more! We know how to handle adversity and hardships and we are always striving for an even better tomorrow.
It is home.
you can run into someone that you know almost anywhere you go, especially if you live in a small town. It is a unity that I am proud to be a part of. It is a place where you can watch your family and loved ones grow. It is a place full of southern hospitality where strangers will open the door for you and give you a smile on the street. It is a safe place where you can find serenity, or it can be an exciting place filled with the loud noise of new friendship.
No matter how far I go, or how many new sights I see Kentucky will always be home. Kentucky will always have my heart because it is where the people I love are. It is where I was lucky enough to grow up and grow in my faith. It was the place where I tested my courage and limits. It is the place where I achieved goals and made life long friendships. It is the place that takes my breath away with the scenery. It is my favorite place. It is Kentucky.
