If you’re like me, then you want to lose weight.
I seem to be the least-fit out of most of my friends and it just makes me feel gross and disappointed in myself. Just under two years ago, I weighed 20 pounds less then what I do now. That kind of sucks because I always told myself I would never get back to this weight again.
So why is it so hard?
I did it the first time, so why can I not do it again? Well, two years ago, my metabolism was much different, which meant it was easier for me to lose weight eating the same foods I do now. Now when I eat foods bad for me, I can tell I am putting the weight back on. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you put in. It is a simple concept, yet it is impossible for us to do.
People often think, “Oh, you want to lose weight? Just go to the gym!”
WRONGO.
Well, I mean, kind of. People tend to think the hardest part of working out is physically going to the gym and putting in the effort. I could go to the gym seven days a week no problem. If I am not EATING the right foods and putting healthy things in my body, I will never get anywhere. It’s hard to find what foods to eat and not take in so many calories. I know I will be in a rough patch and either not care or just give up. I eat my emotions away, which ends up putting weight back on.
Say you finally lose a few pounds. YAY, YOU! Now you go celebrate and go out to eat. The next day you may give in to a soda because you’ve "earned it." Before you know it, the weight is back on and all your efforts have gone to shambles.
You’re not alone.
Everyone has different ways to lose weight but we can all agree on one method: NEVER GIVE UP.
