Finding your self-worth, your purpose, your reason for being, is something many find challenging. We must live everyday experiencing new trials and tribulations, faced with decision after decision all in order to obtain some type of reasoning for why we are even here in the first place. My question is, why is it so difficult? Why is it so hard for us to see that discovering yourself is the key to having and fulfilling a happy life?
Perhaps, it's because we don't know how to distinguish whether we are right or wrong in our choice of direction, or perhaps it's because we live in fear that others around us may notice our new found self-proclamation and no longer approve of us, perhaps they now feel indifferent or inferior. Maybe you feel as if you're not being supported in your decisions, you feel that you must be making the wrong ones if the others are no longer eager to agree. In doing so you lose sight of the big picture. You fail to see why those disapproving are the way they are and it's because you have found yourself. Once you establish that purpose, that reason for living, you go through life with your head held high because you know you're here for a reason.
You're meant to be something incredible, you're meant to go on and you're meant to be successful and happy all at the same time. You determine your destiny and once you've allowed yourself to figure that out, nothing and no one can stop you. But what about when you start noticing all of these things about yourself, why is it that you notice your friends to slowly dwindle? Your "support" group no longer seems so "supportive?" Why is that once we find our purpose in life, others don't neccessarily like it? Once you realize these things about yourself those around you become infected by your contagious aspiration to do and to be the best that you can be.
They too start to notice. However, what you're missing is that it's not who notices, it's how they perceive what they notice. Say for instance your best friend sees you making all of these changes in your life, adopting good habits and releasing the bad, doing more of what you love, finding your natural talents and abilities that set you apart from everyone else, and he/she starts acting differently. Perhaps you stop hearing from certain people as often as before and you notice that something has changed. You changed. You could care less about being a clone in the room and you've found that you'd rather be the pigeon that stands away from the flock. You want people to notice you now. And although there will be those who are true from the start and regularly support you in your journey and help you to follow your dreams, there will be also those who feel threatened by your success. A person that has yet to find their purpose in life may not be so eager and happy to see someone else doing 'better' than them. They may stop communicating with you, they may tell you're that you're wrong when you're actually right in the hope that you'll believe them and you'll stop what you're doing. You may start to worry that others are angry at your for doing what YOU want to do in your life.
But you can't let that stop you! You can't live in fear that other people may not be as accepting of your hopes, values and dreams in the same manner you are. If you let yourself be defeated and you're captivated by the mindlessness of society you too will never prosper. You will never fulfill your purpose in life. And you will never, be you. Don't live in regret of things you should've done but you didn't because you didn't want someone to judge you. Do everything and anything that YOU want because if it makes you happy, it should make them happy, and if it doesn't, then you don't need them to begin with. Surround yourself with those who want to watch you prosper, who love to watch you grow. "Do you!" as they say, because that is your purpose.
