It’s no secret that college students love holidays. Holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving mean extended breaks from school, and days like Saint Patrick’s Day and the Fourth of July are great excuses to throw a party. However, there’s one holiday that college students look forward to all year. Halloween is undisputedly the ultimate college holiday.
Many college students love dressing up as something else. It’s probably the main reason theme parties are so popular on college campuses. But Halloween is the one time you don’t have to follow a specific theme, meaning you can dress up as whatever you want. This means the people who enjoy planning and perfecting their costumes can spend however long they want organizing their costume.
Dressing up without a theme also means you have more freedom in choosing what to wear. There’s a costume for everyone. You can dress scary, sexy, cute, or funny without judgment. You dress however you want for one night a year without judgment.
For those who don’t enjoy dressing up as much, they’re free to be just as included in the fun. Last minute costumes are becoming something of an art form, with many articles being written on how to come up with costumes exclusively with items found around the house. While just throwing on a pair of animal ears may not be as creative, no one is going to say you’re doing Halloween wrong.
It’s the one holiday that lets college students forget their worries and pretend to be something else. It allows for an escape from worries and stress while also letting them express their creativity through their costumes and, let’s be honest, the parties are fun too.
