8 Reasons I Love To Be A Dog Mom

Some people will not agree with me that I should call myself a mom to my dogs, but that's the crazy thing about life: I'm so happy and my dog is to.

Easy Conversation/Friend Starter

Sarah Mason

Well hello, I just would like to point out you probablyyyy are reading this article because you have a dog, are a fellow dog mom, or at least know someone that crazy loves their dog. To me I love to find connections with people that have a dog or at least share a love of dogs. This way my dog can also be apart of all the fun times I have with my friends.

They Always Give You A Reason To Be Proud

My dog is truly like having a child to me. As you can see I even bought him Christmas sweaters and we took pics in front of the Christmas tree. He relies on me for the necessities of a good life just as a child would. So I like to give a little extra and make his life special. This process to me, makes me a dog mom.

Best Pups=Best Buds

A dog is the best friend to have. Period. They miss you when you're gone, but aren't mad at you when you get back home. Dogs keep you in a good mood and never cancel plans. My beagle baby is always ready for cuddles or to go crazy and play. For me having a dog is a perfect excuse to take a break from anything stressing me out and enjoy life a little bit more.

Unconditional Love

Of course you knew this was going to be here. Its common knowledge that our dogs are the biggest lovers. I am blessed to find a wagging tail and excited howl from my baby every time I come home (even if I've ran outside for 2 minutes). For this dog mom I fell in love with my beagle the moment I laid eyes on him. Even though one dog can be just a short portion of our lives dogs live their entire lives with just us. They give us their entire love and attention for their ENTIRE lives. Think about that.

Perfect Excuse To Lay In Bed All Day

Sarah Mason

For me I always have some project or paper I feel like I should be working on. I have a constant built in feeling that I have to be busy, but my cuddly nap loving dog reminds me of the importance to take mental breaks and just chill every once in a while. My favorite days are when my pup lays with me on the couch and we just watch Disney movies all day.

A Cute Model Always On Hand

Sarah Mason

Now this point isn't what every dog owner needs or takes advantage of but for this dog mom I love taking pics of my growing puppy. He may not be the most patient model but I think he sure is the cutest! Pics during every season are always fun when you can have a dog to take pics and post on instagram of.

Birth Control At Its Finest

While dogs are loving and amazing they teach very important life lessons. Puppies have to be taught everything from when and where they can go to the bathroom, what is and is not food, and some dogs have to be taught appropriate behavior. As a dog mom myself I often wonder how I will survive being a human mom on the days my dog is driving me crazy.

If My Cute Puppy Pics Haven't Convinced You Maybe You Just Deserve A Cat.

My roommate's cat is pretty cool so maybe if you're not dog mom material a cat would be better for ya.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
