When I arrived in college, some would depict me as either shy or a fireball of sassiness. Most of my friends will agree that I am not your average college student. I am different and I pride myself on my uniqueness. In all honesty, I never heard of the Odyssey until I joined as a content creator. Joining the Odyssey has provided so many opportunities that I want to share with every reader in case you are on the fence about joining or reading/watching the content that is created.

1. Anyone Can be a Content Creator.

Yes. Anyone can be a content creator. I hear all the time that I can not join the Odyssey because I can not write. The Odyssey is more than just writing. As long as you have a perspective on life, you can be a content creator. Recently, The Odyssey created a feature for peoples interested in producing videos. Those fancy how-to-tutorials over how to cook ramen noodles fifty million ways can be in the power of your hands if you join the Odyssey.

2. You Get to Become a Published Writer.

How many people do you know can say they published their work when they were in college? Not many! Adding one thing to set you apart from the rest of the world is what is going to give you that job in NYC.

3. You have amazing leadership and support.

Every community is run by a team of talented individuals who want to see you succeed in every single aspect of your life. I want every individual on my team to know that I want you to crush every goal that you set forth. I am your EIC but I am also your cheerleader rooting for you in the corner. Rooting for you to get that A on that anatomy test you have been studying for the past two weeks, this is our job as Editor in Chief. I honestly could not be the amazing EIC without the guidance of my amazing Managing Editor, Danica. Danica, you and your Beyonce references help me get through the days of all the school work and making the Odyssey more enjoyable. When I feel like giving up and not feeling like I am enough with both my school and the odyssey, I know I have you in my corner rooting for me.

4. You Make Connections That Will Last a Lifetime

In our Group Me, I have made friends that will last a lifetime. From the conversations about Donald Trump to conversations about our favorite Dunkin Donuts Coffee. For anyone that is interested, it was a strong agreement that Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee= Life. I recently got thrown into the Wake County GroupMe to see what it is like in other communities GroupMe. This community embodies the dream team that can be implemented in any community across the USA. I met the EIC, Carey, in this group me and I strive to embody her mindset of her positivity. Thank You Carey!

5. You Have a Voice for Those Who Are Afraid to Speak.

Having a voice and not using it is like a bird not using their voice to create the sweet tunes we hear on a daily basis. I use this platform to promote positivity and to discuss difficult topics that would not be discussed in everyday conversation. Encouraging other individuals to use their voice is the overarching goal for the Odyssey. That is my overarching goal within my own life. I want to help individuals realize that they can have a confidence within themselves and help them strive to be the best that they can be.

The Odyssey has helped me realize that I can be the best I can be without the opinions of others. While you can get paid for reaching certain goals, I enjoy creating content without the idea of monetary gain. Sparking hope and happiness are one of my personal goals and I feel that this can be acheived through this platform. If you feel more of a stronger desire to write, find your nearest community and apply. It is your voice, how will you impact the world!?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
