Why Children Boxing Matters For This Brooklyn Gym

Every year for the past 14 years, Gleason's Gym hosts a fantasy boxing camp. For the past four years, it has taken place at Honors Haven Resort. For four days, children and adults take part in boxing training sessions that include sparring and an exhibition show. World Champions are highlighted as the camp's trainers for the attendees. I am the camp coordinator, Jump Rope Specialist and one of the World Champions. The children are from Gleason's charity program called ‘Give A Kid A Dream’. The children come from unfortunate backgrounds, either from low-income families or are at-risk children. Gleason's Gym provides free training to them to help steer them in the right direction to become productive in society. Boxing is a positive outlet for them. I want to open the discussion and find out what you think about children boxing.
