If you know me, you know that my love for cats is at an all time high. If you were to meet me, this would take you approximately .5 seconds to learn. My love for this pet began when I got one of my own, laying in her cage at Pet Smart with her paws crossed like a little lady. I was sold.
Over the years of having this little ball of fluff in my family, I have grown to realize the simple fact that cats are better than people. Why, you might ask?
Cats aren't as high maintenance.
Although cats do need to be fed and given water multiple times a day, and played with, these needs come nothing close to what dealing with people can be like at times. People expect a lot out of other people. People like to get their way, and when that doesn't work out, they can get mean. We've all dealt with those friends who didn't get their way and threw a fit at one point or another. As long as cats have their simple needs to keep them healthy, they don't mind what you do.
They won't run the other direction when you're sick.
Unlike your human friends, who steer clear of you until you get over whatever bug you've caught, your feline friend will cuddle up with you on all of your sick days. Your kitty doesn't have to worry about getting sick too, so they are at the ready to make you feel better and provide comforting purrs and entertainment.
It's hard to get mad at a cat.
It's so hard to deal with people when they get mad. Their temper rises, they yell, and stomp around like that will solve the problem. People are not fun or cute when they are mad. But cats are. Even if your furry friend wakes you up at 2 a.m. because they are hungry or want to play, you can't get mad at that face. You can detect the sass in your cats meow, but it's still the cutest sound ever.
Cats have the best attitudes.
My cat is 13 years old (which is old in cat years). She is blind and has arthritis in her back legs. However, you can always find her purring away or begging for her favorite treats. Whatever life throws a cats way, they won't lay around and mope. They will cuddle up in the arms of their owners and be happy that you are there.
Cats will always be there for you.
Bad day at school? Your cat will be anxiously awaiting your arrival home for pets and cuddles. Bad breakup? Cats can detect when your sad and will be right there waiting as an adorable distraction. Even if you mess up, your cat won't give you the silent treatment like people will. Cats are sweet, forgiving animals, who always love their humans.
Cats are special pets. They can be much more reclusive at times than any other house hold pet, but they keep their humans on the highest of pedestals. We, as their owners, must make sure our kitties are happy and healthy. They depend on us for everything they need, but in return, they are always happy to see us and spend time with us.
