Why I Can't Wait For This Presidential Election To Be Over
The Fiscal Times

November cannot come soon enough. Most people have very strong views about one or even all of the presidential candidates, and I’m not here to sway you one way or another. Personally, my knowledge of politics is limited. I am not strongly opinionated in regards to Trump or Clinton, I am honestly just holding out for it all to be over.

Being old enough to vote for the individual who will run our country for the next four years is incredibly important in my opinion as well in the eyes of many others. However, it is unbelievably frustrating to go online to check my Facebook, and check up on my friends and see what's going on. Lately, that has been impossible because of the election coming up in a few months. It seems every time I go online to check social media there is another argument about why so and so is best suited to be president or why electing them as the leader of our country would be a mistake.

I miss my friends. The normal versions of my friends. This time last year everyone was posting statuses and pictures of their summer adventures. Now all that is being posted by these same people are sexist, racist and quite frankly over-the-top memes and statuses about the candidate they are either so for, or so against. And don’t even get me started on their reactions if you don’t agree with every single one of their opinions, and the opinions of the person you know they are voting for.

It is especially frustrating to see those who are not of age, or even close to being of age to vote, attempting to sway the opinions of others and becoming part of an unnecessary disagreement online. To me it feels that as the election is nearing, it is turning into a giant online “he said she said,” or “this is why I’m right” debate. The whole point of having the right to vote, and having a say in the government is because everyone's opinion is different, and everyone is entitled to their different opinion. Just because someone doesn’t have the same thoughts and beliefs that someone else does, does not make either person wrong. No matter whom anyone chooses to vote for, they are voting for that individual because they believe that person is the most qualified to be the president of the United States of America.

I am ready for November to come, and for this election to be over with so the constant drama and arguments over the candidates can also be over.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
