Don't you hate when you're doing a quiz and suddenly your internet goes out? Cause I do. And I've had it happen. Multiple times.
Campus internet is used by a lot of people at once so I understand why it may be slower than we would like but at the same time, we need reliable internet to be able to do assignments. We should not have to worry if we'll be screwed over by the WiFi suddenly disconnecting.
The number of videos I had to watch for a class that should have only taken 10 minutes to watch can sometimes take up to an hour because of constant buffering which is ridiculous.
If the university is going to be technology-dependent then it needs to have constant reliable internet. Students pay thousands upon thousands of dollars a year. There has to be enough in there to pay for a better internet.
Along with internet that keeps going out, there is also the aspect of weak Wi-Fi. If we have to have the unstable internet we have when it comes to staying connected, can we at least have internet that won't change video resolutions six times in the same video?
Internet is needed for university nowadays and needs to be good enough for education purposes. I oftentimes have to use Word document instead of Google Docs because at least Word won't disconnect while writing an essay. I shouldn't have to worry about that. No one should.
Whether it be slow internet or unreliable internet, college campuses need to make sure WiFi is always top-notch for students who stress enough as it. Stressing about whether they are going to lose progress because of bad internet should not have to be a thing.
Welcome to 2019... Let's get good internet.
