Growing up, I was teased a lot for being shorter than most people. At times it bothered me, but I mostly tried thinking of the things thatI was able to do that others couldn't. I encourage all of you shorties out there to embrace your height as a gift. Here are some reasons why.
First of all, finding guys taller than you is not a problem. Everyone is always saying how they would only date a guy over 6'0... why? I understand where girls who say this are coming from because they are probably over 5'5. I would rather have a guy around 5'7 so that he isn't towering over me.
You can get by people easily. In really tight places, like parties, it's easy to get through people. Most of the time they don't even know you are there. So if you are on a mission to find someone, make sure to send your short friend. They will for sure find them without a problem.
You always get to be in the front. Usually, when you are taking a group photo you hear people say "tall people in the back" and "short people in the front," and you are always easy to spot. It's also nice because if you are at a concert, you have a better chance of getting up front! Also, if a taller person notices you behind them, they are likely to offer to have you go in front of them at concerts or standing room events.
Leg room is never a concern. When flying on an airplane or riding in a car, you can usually sit pretty comfortably. You don't get bad leg cramps and don't need to get out and stretch every so many miles.
You're the best at hide-and-seek. Why? BECAUSE YOU CAN HIDE JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE, and it takes people forever to find you! Shorter people have it easy when it comes to hide-and-seek. We know where all of the good hiding spots are that no one would ever think to look. But that's the point, right?
You can get discounts for passing as younger than you really are. This happens all of the time. There have been plenty of instances where short people pass as 12 or 13 when they are really 16 or older. People do not usually question it either, especially since you are short and most of the time seem younger anyway.
So go ahead, make fun of short people all you want. I'll have you know that it's a whole other world down here. Oh, and we aren't short; we're fun sized.
