You're on this earth, if you're lucky, a healthy and prosperous 80 years, early 90's for most. While this seems plentiful, an endless bounty of time, even we must come to end, as all things do. While our time on this earth can be measured in a slew of ways.
Seconds, minutes, and even moments cannot depict the feeling that comes in the form of torment. The well know phenomenon, that is getting your time wasted. And wether it is wasting of meer moments or a much harsher stretch of time, one of the harshest realizations is hands down watching your precious time slipping through the cracks. Now, where I am concerned, I could tell heartbreaking stories to help further the development of my point, in explaining the hardships faced, emotional turmoil dealt with, and tears shed over time, but I will not.
Instead, I choose to pose a question. Why aren't you smiling?
There are 86,400 seconds in one day, all of which are broken down and split into moments and memories that will help to shape and define our inner self concept. Ultimately defining how we appear to ourselves, and how we lend ourselves to others. On a broader scale, there are 604,800 seconds in just one week. While time is relative, of course, time is only relevant when wasted.
Aside from the very 'heady' underlying concepts that obviously may surface, think of your time only in its simplest forms, either being spent doing something you enjoy, bettering yourself, working for your money, or the "other". The grey area where all the wasted moments live.
So, I pose the question again. Why aren't you smiling?
We have an extensive amount of knowledge and power at our fingertips daily! Endless amounts of literature to delve into, new topics to study and become a buff on. Picking up a new hobby, learning a new instrument, or even walking your dog. As a generation, we have become overly involved with spending our time with a glowing screen illuminating our faces. But no amount of 4g, cellular data, or followers on social media can be worth wasting even a shred of a moment tacking it onto your self prescribed 'personal record'.
Teach yourself to breathe easy again, and take the stress off your unreasonably guilty conscious. You have every right to disassociate yourself from any one person if you feel as if you do not see yourself growing with them. You have every right to walk away from a significant other who is doing anything other than empowering you, and helping you to grow. Men and woman alike, as growth and prosperity knows no gender.
You have every right to ask your self. Why aren't you smiling?
You deserve it.
