Are you stuck in a studying rut? Maybe you’ve spent too many hours in a cubicle at Evans, or you’re just not feeling West Campus Library. Whatever the reason, sometimes we just all need a change of pace. It took me a while to warm up to the idea of studying at coffee shops; however, now that I have tried it, I really enjoy it! Warning, if you need to do some serious reading, you might want to stick with the library. But, if you want a more social place where you can get some yummy coffee, you should try one of these local favorites!

Sweet Eugene’s

My personal favorite. Sweet Eugene’s is located right in the middle of College Station and has a very eclectic vibe. Sweets has a lot of different little nooks where you can hide out and hit the books. Plus, their coffee is SO GOOD! If you’re a coffee connoisseur, you have to get the Eugene’s latte. Oh, and did I mention they have donuts?

Mugwalls

Also conveniently located in the heart of College Station, Mugwalls is another great choice. A lot of people enjoy the atmosphere. They also have an upstairs, which is very conducive to studying! Going to sip on coffee? I’ve heard that the iced Mugwalls can’t be beat!

The Village

The Village is actually a café, but they have a large selection of coffee. The Village offers lots of Fair Trade and organic food choices, and their coffee is pretty great. It is full of local art and has live music sometimes. It’s located in downtown Bryan, which is a little further from campus, but the atmosphere is worth the drive.

Harvest

Harvest is another coffee shop in downtown Bryan that has that “cool factor” we’re all looking for. It’s on the smaller side, but on a nice day, it’s really fun to sit outside and enjoy the downtown feel that Harvest has. Since it’s’ a little further from campus, it’s normally not as busy as some of the more convenient coffee shops. When you go, get the Harvest latte. It’ll change your life.

Lupa’s

Lupa’s is another CStat favorite. They do awesome designs in their coffee, so if you’re looking for an artsy Instagram picture of your latte, Lupa’s is the place for you. Lupa’s stays pretty quiet during the day, so it’s an excellent place to get studying done.

Starbucks

We all know about this one. You really can’t go anywhere where there’s not a Starbucks nearby. Personally, I am a bigger fan of local coffee shops, but the good thing about Starbucks is that it’s the same everywhere. Your favorite drink will taste the same in China as it will right inside the MSC. One drawback to the on campus locations is that they don’t accept Starbucks gift cards or dining dollars.

As you can see, College Station offers a large variety when it comes to coffee shops. Whether you’re looking for a great place to study, or just an Insta post, by doing a little research and coffee shop hopping, you can find your perfect fit!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
