When You Don't Know Where You Are Going

Where are you going? If the answer is "anywhere", you're more than likely already there.

"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice
"Then it doesn't matter where you go," said the Cat
"-so long as I get SOMEWHERE," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, " if you only walk long enough."

It is so easy for us, as humans, to get lost. Maybe we aren't actually lost, but we have no clue as to what we are doing, we have lost all sense of direction in our lives. How can you pick the "road to go down" if you don't know where it is that you are going? How can you get "there" if you don't know or don't care where "there" is?

Having direction is important.

Where are you going? Until you can answer that question no road is better than the other, any road will take you exactly to where you want to go. Having absolutely no direction, no goals, no idea on what you are going to do next, all lead you to the EXACT same place, NOWHERE. You'll never get "there" because you don't know your destination. Without a destination or a goal, how do you find direction, pick a road, to get "there"?

How to utilize this in your life.

What direction is it that you are wanting to take? Whatever it is that you are struggling with knowing the direction of, remember that any road you take will get you there.

It's hard to know everything up-front, but if you sit around and wait for all the information life will pass you by. Do your own research, ask questions, and gain knowledge.. then act on it.

When do you know its time to stop testing the water and jump in? I could not tell you, it all depends on you. It depends on the matter at hand and of course the person.

Start a list. Start a list of the areas in which you lack direction and work on those, it could be anything! Somethings I need direction in, For example : writing style, college to attend, if I should work while trying to juggle school and a social life. Or it could be simple things, For example: your hair cut, clothing styles, Instagram captions.

I'm still not sure what I want to be when I grow up. I would like to think I would make a great lawyer, but how do I know if I would love that job? But without anything specifically in mind, how can I move forward? What road will take me to a destination that I can’t be sure of?

Most of life's difficulties come down to preparing for them. Too little knowledge and you don't know what is going on, too much knowledge and you're overwhelmed, or just sitting there with absolutely no knowledge... the result is always identical. You are left empty handed, and you are stuck in the same position.

To stop this from happening get an idea of what you want to do. Select an area that you are lacking direction in and think of possible routes. Think of ways to find your destination.

Once you've got somewhat of an idea thank of what the basic boundaries are, ask yourself what it is that you really want to do.

Once you get some ideas in your head finish the research and choose a path. If the path doesn't seem to work out, look at it as a learning experience instead of a failure. Even if you are taking baby-steps down this path you are making progress, learn from your experiences.

If you don't have a direction, what is the point in moving forward? It's meaningless to do things without looking at the bigger picture and getting to where you are going.

Where are you going? If the answer is "anywhere," you're more than likely already there.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
