When I say that I am a Republican, I am not saying that I think a certain race is higher than another. Do NOT assume that I am a racist. I respect anybody that cares for the state of our country. I do not care if you are white, black, yellow, purple, or blue; If you are a well-behaved citizen and choose to be kind to others, you have my upmost respect.
When I say that I am a Republican, I am not saying that I am against the gay community. Do NOT assume that I am homophobic. I have nothing against others choosing who they love and who they long to spend their lives with. I do not care if you are gay, lesbian, or bisexual; I will respect you and your opinions if you respect mine.
When I say that I am a Republican, I am not saying that I don't believe in gender equality. Do NOT assume that I am against a woman holding a position of power. Just because I don't claim to be a feminist does not mean that I think less of women. When I say "Hillary Clinton should not be president," I am not being sexist. I am basing it on her stance on certain issues, not by her gender.
When I say that I am Republican, I'm not saying that I think every Muslim is a terrorist. Do NOT assume that I will judge you because of your choice of religion or absence of one. Personally, I consider myself to be a Christian. If you aren't, I will not change my view of you and lay hate on you. I believe that if you life your life to love others and strive to make a positive change in the world, your religion has not affect on me.
When I say that I am a Republican, I am not trying to be boastful. I am not out to argue or change your views. I am simply showing pride in my beliefs when it comes to politics. Despite what the media will tell you, I am not a monster. I am not full of hate and judgement.
When I say that I am a Republican, do not be quick to judge.
I am only asking for you to accept me and respect my opinions. As a young adult, I am using my God-given right to think for myself, hold my own beliefs, and put them to use.
