It's so easy to get caught up in any part of life that can be even a little bit stressful. Drama with friends, family stuff going on, school work, classes, your job - all of it can cause so much stress. But when you start stressing about how much stress you have - it's time to take a step back.

Is what you're stressing over going to matter in five years? Yes, it's a silly question but it's one you need to start asking yourself. You need to seriously think about your future next time you're stressing, and if you're stressing about that future, you need to realize that you can make your future anything you want it to be. Yes, stressing about your future is something you should do and if anyone tells you otherwise, maybe they're not the ones supporting your dreams. Your future is important, but it's not worth damaging your present for.

Your future can be anything you want it to be and if one thing doesn't work out, there's always time for a change. You can always make things better, you can always change your mind, and you can always decide that you want a new future and start one whenever you want. It's always okay to stress about your future because you care - but don't let it ruin your life and don't let it stop you from living in the moment and loving your life.

For when you have stress with your job or school work. Make sure you recognize if you're stressing because you care and want to succeed, or because it's too much and you're unhappy. This can be tricky because people tend to go too deep down a path of a major or a career and look back hating their lives at 22 or 30 years old wanting to run away and change everything. Stressing about school or work is necessary to realize you care and want to grow and learn and succeed, however, when it becomes unhealthy and obsessive: stop. You can always change your career down the line, so make sure you're stressing because you do love it and want to grow, and not because it's just too much.

Family will always be there and friends will always have your back but don't stress when you have a small fight of tiff. If a friend in college is treating you poorly, genuinely think if they'll be a part of your life for years to come. Make sure you're stressing over family stuff that matters, but know that your family should be there to help you and support you and work it out. Friends should be able to have your back, not cause you more problems than happiness.

Don't let your stress take on new stress. Don't let your stress take over your life and make sure that they things you're stressing about are things that you care about - not the meaningless little things that won't matter in the long run. And when the stress becomes too much, that's why they make chocolate and bubble baths. Stress

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
