I love when people are passionate about something. When you can see it in everything they do; how they speak, and how they carry themselves. I asked people why the chose their major and their answers were filled with passion and joy as they all talked about their careers and their futures.

Health Care:

“Nursing. I wanted to be just like my mom. That turned into me finding a love for caring for people and wanting to make a difference in someone’s life.” - Allison B.

“Nursing. I want to be a nurse that help women feel confident during a vulnerable time.” - Marisa R.

“Audiology. I can assist people with hearing loss through rehabilitation and diagnostic testing. There is a science behind it but it comes with a lot of passion to support it. I’ve always been interested in the brain (music therapy).” - Kailey M.

“Pre-Vet/Animal Science. I freaking love animals and the medical profession. What better way to mix the two than veterinary medicine! It’s very rewarding to have the opportunity to work with animals and see the animal excel as well as the owner.” - Jessica F.

Education:

“Teaching picked me! I wanted to be a step toward a positive change to education as well as to students' lives and possible futures.” - Jenna S.

“Secondary Education. I wanted to help people realize their full potential and find their way through school, and more importantly, through life. I love seeing students light up and work harder when they realize that someone believes in them.” - Kelsey K.

“Elementary and Special Education. I fell in love with special education because I am able to watch my students grow and have them realize the potential that I see in them, disability or not.” - Mariela R.

Business:

“I started working in retail to afford to go to school...which led me to have a passion for sales, customer service and events. It’s ironic, because I never would have found business intriguing, unless I had to work through school” - Kelsey P.

Sciences:

“Biology, allows for many different careers in the same field without having to change your major every time you want to change your path! It’s open to medical and veterinary students, which have been both the paths I have chosen at some point.” - Devyn H.

Arts and Letters:

“Mass Communications with a photography emphasis. I wanted to pursue a major that allowed me to travel because I dream of seeing the world and all the cultures that encompass it.... I want to share the places I’ve been with those who may never get the chance to travel.” - Carolann L.

No matter what you major is, being passionate about it will make you great at it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
