What Your Most Common Dreams Say About You
Leonardo Lomurno

The best dreams are the ones that you never want to wake up from. They're the dreams in which you've finally snagged the person you've been crushing hard on for the past year. You are living life without a care in the world by the grace of sleep.

Everyone dreams for between 90 minutes and two hours on average each night. That time spent dreaming is when our true thoughts and fears are exposed, but only for the sake of our own minds.

It would be great if those dreams were reality, but unfortunately in most cases they're not. The good news is that there is a rhyme and reason behind all of our dreams, whether they are magical or terrifying. Every dream we have is an indication of some portion of our lives which we can use to further discover ourselves. These unforgettable dreams are the ones that wake you up as to who you are and what is going on up in your head.

Have you ever wondered why you keep having the same dream in which you are being chased? In this dream it seems like there is no happy ending. This very common scenario is an indication that you are stressed out or under pressure at the moment.

Seeing an ex-partner in your dream is more common than most may think. Dreaming of your ex not only makes it harder to move on, but to some people it's just be annoying. This type of dream indicates that you simply miss being in a relationship with that person, you probably don't actually miss them.

What about the scanerio where you can't stop yourself from crying? Commonly, people truly believe they are physically crying to the point that they are abruptly woken up. Crying in your dream is your brain's way of releasing the emotions that you may be too afraid to share when you are awake.

Another common dream is being cheated on. This dream may be telling you that you have a lack of trust in a current or past relationship. Dreaming of being cheated on can also mean you are insecure with yourself.

Dreams may be the key to figuring out all the unknown questions we have about ourselves as well as what we really want and need. Dreams have the ability to give us a glimpse into how our brains work when we are not consciously aware of our thoughts.

Recording your dreams in a journal is a great way to create a visual map of what you are going through and how events in your life affect your brain. It may seem silly to keep a journal, but writing your dreams down may help you discover more about yourself. You may even be able to address a problem that you never even knew you had.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
