What Happens Now?

The man that seemed to be what the majority did not want, won. Donald Trump our nation's 2016-2020 president. Promising to "Make America Great Again!" but in less than twenty-four hours of winning the presidency has already caused outrage in our nation and seemed to have made a horrible divide between the people. So, what happens now?

With protests going across the nation and now a "No Fly Zone" over the Trump Tower, the constant question most the nation has is, what will happen in January when Donald Trump actually becomes President of the United States.

With the nation at a huge divide there are many questions to be asked, what will happen with the LGBT community, what about the taxes, how long will he actually last as president, will Donald Trump really be that bad?

Trump has seemed to already propose many ideas about guns and what he wants to do with the taxes, making him very lovable in the republican eyes, but what will he give up to bring peace across the nation and bring light to the eyes of those who doubt him so much.

With Hillary and Obama claiming that she is supportive of Trump being President, eased a lot of democrats minds and made many more people likely to give Trump a chance before jumping to conclusions on that he is "horrible" and he will "ruin our nation".

The biggest problem now, is that we as American citizens have to come together rather than be at each other's throats over this election. Since the election ended, many people have been fighting and arguing over social media platforms and in person about the election. This election has made all of us forget that we as people make many of the decisions that happen in this country, that whether or not Donald Trump takes away every right we have, we can all fight together and compromise together to make America the great nation that we all know it is.

Obama stated that "Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

Keeping that quote in mind we have to remember that we the people created America as the land of the free and the home of the brave, we are the people, the voters, the ones who make the changes, the ones who chose to work together to make our nation better. We as a nation will constantly be fighting for more rights, more freedoms, and we all need to decide together, will we let this election ruin us, or make up stronger? As living under one nation, we should fight for what is ours and recognize that we speak for America.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
